being a law student, young and upcoming model Annemarie Beldman, we like to introduce you today, just by coincidence became a part time model. Cause we really like her appearance in front of the camera, we asked her for an interview and she agreed. So here we are, can share some of her photos with you and let you learn a bit more about this model by reading our interview with her. |
Annemarie, please tell us a little bit about yourself to begin with. (How old are you, Where were you born and where do you live now, What is your profession and do you have other besides modeling?
My name is Annemarie Beldman and I’m born on 25 feb ’95 so currently I’m 21 years old. I live in a small village called “Holten” in The Netherlands (Holland). I grew up in this village but born in the hospital of Deventer, a city nearby. I’m a college LAW student, and studying for jurist, but I want to become a lawyer. That’s one of the big dreams I have. When I once had a love shoot planned with my lovely boyfriend, the photographer asked me afterwards, if I had some model experience. I did not, so he told me, that he likes me on camera and that I really should try it. I never knew how I could set my portfolio up and all those things, and I’m just a poor student. I started to do some TFP(Time for Print)- Shoots, I liked it, so I continued with that.
What do you love most about modeling?
The fact that you can tell a story or give an extra impression on a photo. You can be someone else and escape from the real world. It really gives me some sense of freedom.
What’s been the highlight of your career so far?
I met a couple of fantastic Photographers. I guess that what I’m doing at the moment isn’t really a career because until now I am not discovered or got paid shoots.

Tell us about some of your recent shoots.
Last shoot was really cool. I worked with Patrick Treffers and 2 male models. Patrick had a school assignment and we started to find a location outside because it was to crowdie inside. Out of the blue next to his school was a old abandoned fishnet factory and they were building or renovate it. We started shooting on the building place outside the factory, at some moment we got permission to shoot inside the factory. It was just a great creative project and the passion of Patrick for photography goes really deep and I guess that is what this shoot is definitely my favorite.
What really goes on behind the scenes as a model?
Your hair and clothes need to be ‘on fleek’ for the shot. So there is a lot of corrections and accompagnement, but also a lot of laughter and fun. Most of the shoots I did were very informal. It depends of the shoot idea is from the team together or only from the photographer. In the last case you are just listening and follow instructions, waiting for make-up & hair and all those things. If it is an idea of you and the team, then there is a lot of talking about your opinion in how things should be. But I like to also have a laugh behind the scene.
Which photographers in the industry do you most enjoy working with?
I did not work with photographers in the industry, so I really don’t know how it would be. I shooted with upcoming photographers and hobby-photographers. I hope that I can answer this question one day.
Define your personal style. I really am not a one style girl. I like to dress a little Sexy chic –completed with high-heels- or just the street style, - cutted jeans-sneakers-nice top -. Who would you say is your 'style muse'? “Nikkie Plessen” she definitely define my style. She is a fashion designer from Holland and I love all of her looks and collections. She combines chic with street style and her collections and looks are elegant and gives you the independent woman feeling. I love it! Your favourite designer is… ? Karl Lagerfeld! The brain behind “Chanel” of course. He is constantly changing his way of working and really go with the times. He did even make his work more accessible for normal-people to work with H&M. I think it’s important to really put you on the map. The passion, creativity and dedication. Vogue or Harper’s Bazaar? Vogue, they got the best of the new runway looks. |
Is there any particular designer piece you are crushing on right now?
No, because when I do I only disappoint myself because they are way too pricy for me. But I really want a Michael Kors bag for my birthday, and definitely not a fake one.
What do you hope to be doing in the next 5 years?
I hope that I’ve learned more and that my network in the model and fashion industry will be a lot bigger. Of course i hope that someone discovers me, so I can learn more and let the world see who I am.
If you could be anywhere else but here, where would you go?
That’s difficult I really like to go to Canada, because a part of my family lives there and I really love the nature but also the big cities like Toronto and Montreal. Besides that I also want to live the American dream in a middle big city somewhere where the weather is hopefully better then in Holland haha!
