Tell us about some of your recent shoots.

Recently I had a shooting in Hannover for winter fashion. We took some nice pics in the center of Hannover. The sun was shining and I enjoyed the feeling in this moment.

What really goes on behind the scenes as a model?
In the moment when the photograph is taking the picture, you have to look absolutely perfect. No one can see, if it is extremely cold outside and you are freezing or if your feet hurt, because to hold the pose is very hard. But in the end it is a good feeling to see the results of the shooting and then I am always motivated to go for the next shoot.

Which photographers in the industry do you most enjoy working with?
I liked to work with Matthias Reinsdorff and Andreas Lins

Define your personal style.
My style is very energetic. I love dance poses. And I love to take photos where I can show how happy I am in my life.

I am always looking for to create my own style. I am wearing what I think looks good. I find inspirations in magazines or in the internet but I do not want to copy a style.

I don’t have one.

Vogue or Harper’s Bazaar?
Vogue.

Is there any particular designer piece you are crushing on right now?
No.

What do you hope to be doing in the next 5 years?
I will go on working on my project with Tom2Rock. I started singing and I am going to work on my musical career in the next years. And furthermore I hope to have some shootings for fashion magazines for example. I like doing shootings for sportwear.

If you could be anywhere else but here, where would you go?

I would love to go to Cuba one day. I heard about that they are dancing on the streets there. I would love to join this beautiful lifetime with the people there.

She is an experienced, open-minded and fun hobbyist model, based in Croyden, Greater London, United Kingdom. Take a look at her photos and learn about model MelleKiou by reading our interview with her.
MelleKiou, why modelling?
Modeling is fun and if you are working with true professionals who love the art of photography it be challenging as well as inspirationally rewarding.

What do you love most about modelling?
I love modeling, as it is completely detached from the everyday run of the mill lives we often lead. I can be carefree, play games, be characters and just be totally free in the moment to produce a moment with another like minded creative.

What’s been the highlight of your career so far?

For me one of the highlights was travelling to America for a shoot. It was a great experience and that photographer and I have collaborated on many projects since.

Tell us about some of your recent shoots.

Well, it was winter, and I was freezing in a waterfall in Cumbria for a shoot with a photographer I have worked with before and very happy with the shots, but also recently did a shoot for a new photographer starting out, and we had a great fun day taking pictures all over the building where he has a studio and we ended up with some breath taking shots I am also proud of.

What really goes on behind the scenes as a model?
A lot of the time is waiting to shoot, but I have been lucky to work with interesting people with great ideas. Most fun is working out the shots then getting ready to turn ideas into action and although I have down catwalk I am mainly a photographic model.

Which photographers in the industry do you most enjoy working with?

I just love working with creatives, people that have a passion for the work. No personal favourites as each shoot is different and has it’s own unique memories.

Define your personal style.

My style is truly arriving with an open mind ready to produce something special.

Who would you say is your 'style muse'?

I would love a shoot in the style of Grace Jones and….. I think Grace Jones alone is the answer.

Your favourite designer is… ?

Primark…. Only kidding. I just love clothes that make me feel good.

Vogue or Harper’s Bazaar?

Vogue and maybe a cover one day…..

Is there any particular designer piece you are crushing on right now?
I went to see the Alexander McQueen exhibition at the V&A Museum and would of loved to work for him. A visionary and he once said that the women that wear his clothes were bold and brave. I would of worn anything he produced.

What do you hope to be doing in the next 5 years?

In five years time I hope to continue smiling at life.

If you could be anywhere else but here, where would you go?

Somewhere tranquil.
