She is the beautiful young lady in the amazing white dress on Streetfashion MagZZine's cover March 2017 and, as you can see on the right, she also presents the little black dress perfectly. Up and coming model Olivia Leps was spotted by us on German model community Model-Kartei and we were immediately fascinated. She convinced us with her intense and in the same time sensitive expressions and her versatility. Get your own impression of Olivia in our interview with her and by watching some of her photos. |
Hey there, my name is Olivia, I am 22 years old and I was born in Berlin. I grew up in the surroundings of Berlin and I am currently a student majoring in business IT and previously in physics. Besides modelling, I do a lot of things – whenever I get the chance to pursue something new, I just go for it. So, for example, I completed an acting course, obtained a diver’s certificate, travel a lot, play instruments and found out that modeling is a perfect match for me given my versatility. Habitually, I don’t stay for too long at one spot, hence I have previously lived in Ireland, France, the Netherlands and Portugal.
I love to be surrounded by creative people. Everyone makes their own contribution and together you built up an artwork. You create something entirely new which wasn’t there before. In the end, you look at the results and say: “We did a good job and are an amazing team. Well done!”
What’s been the highlight of your career so far? My personal highlight was a Fashion Award at an Opera Ball. We all wore beautiful dresses, mine was from a German designer and overall it was a really a nice presentation. Tell us about some of your recent shoots. One of my last shoots was with a male model. We started in an ordinary manner in the studio, but after some time the photographer noticed the good light outside so we spontaneously decided to make use of the sun and ended up taking pictures on the roof top. It was so much fun and we laughed a lot. What really goes on behind the scenes as a model? Above all, one has to get along well with the photographer. This always works for me, because you can have a good time as we both love what we are doing. Of course you have to prepare for every shooting, but for me this is less stressful than you might think. Which photographers in the industry do you most enjoy working with? I am looking forward to meet more. |
My style changes every day, depending on my mood. Sometimes very classy with jeans and a casual top, sometimes a bit crazy, matching different styles together. I also like to dress up elegantly in a dress for a nice evening. What makes me special is my natural appearance. On a normal day, I barely wear makeup, let my skin breath and just show everyone who I am without hiding behind a mask.
I don’t really have a ‘style muse’, but I really like Miranda Kerr. Her looks are amazing.
Your favourite designer is… ? There are so many good ones out there, I honestly can’t choose just one. Vogue or Harper’s Bazaar? Both. Is there any particular designer piece you are crushing on right now? No. What do you hope to be doing in the next 5 years? Maybe you read this a lot, but yes, I also see myself as a model who has managed to build up a successful career, is enjoying her job, meets lots of nice and creative people and travels most of the time. |
To choose one place is difficult. I like to see as many different places as possible. My next goals would be Asia, South America and maybe Africa. Meeting people with a different background, another culture and language – basically, stark contrasts to the “western world” is what I am interested in.
