28/2/2017

She is the beautiful young lady in the amazing white dress on Streetfashion MagZZine's cover March 2017 and, as you can see on the right, she also presents the little black dress perfectly. Up and coming model Olivia Leps was spotted by us on German model community Model-Kartei and we were immediately fascinated. She convinced us with her intense and in the same time sensitive expressions and her versatility. Get your own impression of Olivia in our interview with her and by watching some of her photos.

Olivia, please tell us a little bit about yourself to begin with. (How old are you, Where were you born and where do you live now, What is your profession and do you have other besides modeling?
Hey there, my name is Olivia, I am 22 years old and I was born in Berlin. I grew up in the surroundings of Berlin and I am currently a student majoring in business IT and previously in physics. Besides modelling, I do a lot of things – whenever I get the chance to pursue something new, I just go for it. So, for example, I completed an acting course, obtained a diver’s certificate, travel a lot, play instruments and found out that modeling is a perfect match for me given my versatility. Habitually, I don’t stay for too long at one spot, hence I have previously lived in Ireland, France, the Netherlands and Portugal.

What do you love most about modelling?
I love to be surrounded by creative people. Everyone makes their own contribution and together you built up an artwork. You create something entirely new which wasn’t there before. In the end, you look at the results and say: “We did a good job and are an amazing team. Well done!”

What’s been the highlight of your career so far?
My personal highlight was a Fashion Award at an Opera Ball. We all wore beautiful dresses, mine was from a German designer and overall it was a really a nice presentation.

Tell us about some of your recent shoots.
One of my last shoots was with a male model. We started in an ordinary manner in the studio, but after some time the photographer noticed the good light outside so we spontaneously decided to make use of the sun and ended up taking pictures on the roof top. It was so much fun and we laughed a lot.

What really goes on behind the scenes as a model?
Above all, one has to get along well with the photographer. This always works for me, because you can have a good time as we both love what we are doing. Of course you have to prepare for every shooting, but for me this is less stressful than you might think.

Which photographers in the industry do you most enjoy working with?
I am looking forward to meet more.
Define your personal style.
My style changes every day, depending on my mood. Sometimes very classy with jeans and a casual top, sometimes a bit crazy, matching different styles together. I also like to dress up elegantly in a dress for a nice evening. What makes me special is my natural appearance. On a normal day, I barely wear makeup, let my skin breath and just show everyone who I am without hiding behind a mask.

Who would you say is your 'style muse'?
I don’t really have a ‘style muse’, but I really like Miranda Kerr. Her looks are amazing.
Your favourite designer is… ?
There are so many good ones out there, I honestly can’t choose just one.

Vogue or Harper’s Bazaar?
Both.

Is there any particular designer piece you are crushing on right now?
No.

What do you hope to be doing in the next 5 years?
Maybe you read this a lot, but yes, I also see myself as a model who has managed to build up a successful career, is enjoying her job, meets lots of nice and creative people and travels most of the time.

If you could be anywhere else but here, where would you go?
To choose one place is difficult. I like to see as many different places as possible. My next goals would be Asia, South America and maybe Africa. Meeting people with a different background, another culture and language – basically, stark contrasts to the “western world” is what I am interested in.

Bryan Snell ... is re-writing the rules of fitness modelling

24/2/2017

Picture

To succeed in the modeling industry today takes skill, hardwork and dedication. Long gone are the days when a tall, toned body and perfectly symmetrical face would guarantee work (let alone, fame). Although perfection is welcomed, cutting edge editorials and magazines are looking for that little bit more edge these days.

We have all noticed a real change in the industry and how tattoos and body art are perceived.
Bryans body is somewhat of a living canvas. His perfectly sculpted physique is encapsulated from head to toe with intricate tattoo art. Therefore it comes to no surprise, that this up and coming model is re-writing the rules of fitness modelling, quite literally.
Picture
Can you tell me about yourself?
My name is Bryan Snell and I am currently 25 years old. Born in Berlin, Germany and raised in the Central Florida area, I have currently have relocated to Atlanta, GA to pursue acting and modeling. My main hobby revolves around fitness and health to remain in shape for my career.
Any basic principles or belief you stand by?
A basic principle i stand by is be generous, loving and show appreciation. Stay humble and remain true to yourself.

How long have you been modeling?
I have been modeling for 7 months now.

What's your favorite part?
My favorite part about modeling is observing your talent after you are done with the photo shoot. I also enjoy networking and meeting new talent/people
Picture
How was home life for you growing up?
Home life for me growing up was different. Parents got a divorce at a young age and from there it was just me, my mother and my sister. My mom does not drive so that was always a responsibility of mine to get her from point A to point B (which i did not mind). I was an absolute terror in my younger ages, constantly in trouble, getting arrested and getting into fights. Thankfully i changed my life around and eventually found God.
Picture

Were you always supported in your endeavors?

My mom is actually the reason i started my modeling career, so yes she has always supported me.

What has been your favorite experience?
My favorite experience has been the traveling that i get to do since modeling started.
Picture
Picture
Picture
What’s a typical day for you?
A typical day for me consists of casting calls, gym, eating all day, photo shoots and then probably homework unfortunately.

What is the biggest challenge you faced in your career?
The biggest challenge I have faced in my career is adjusting to the wants of the industry. Tattoos and piercings only take you so far in my opinion so i have been removing piercings and adjusting accordingly to my goals.

What has been your biggest achievement?
My biggest achievement in modeling so far has been networking and shooting in Atlanta. I also landed a magazine cover last month and that was something crazy. Landing a speaking role in Tyler Perry's show was by far the best thing i have accomplished thus far.

Where do you see yourself in five years?
In five years, i see myself as a main character in a movie. I want to excel and grow as an actor and make worth of my full potential. I will be one of the most known actors and perfect my craft on my way.

If you could shoot with your favorite celebrity who would it be. And what kind of concept?
If I could shoot with my favorite celebrity I would probably have to pick Dwayne Johnson. I would love recreate some fast and the furious styles. I think me and Channing Tatum would do pretty well together too in a shoot for the ladies lol.

Once act of kindness everyone should follow?
The act of kindness everybody should follow is to show generosity and keep giving.
Do you have any shows or events coming up?
Atlanta fashion week is coming up and i submitted to the event so we'll see what happens! Also more castings and calls to come.

What would you tell anyone doubting themselves?
The last thing you can do is doubt yourself in any path you take in life. As Steve Harvey said, "you have to jump and take the leap of faith." In life if you do not jump you will never soar. Keep pushing and be the hardest worker in the room, you will succeed.

Who inspires you?
My biggest inspiration is Dwayne Johnson.

Brooke Manuel ... modeling has always been my dream

15/2/2017

She is a new face at Streetfashion MagZZine's partner agency Modelemi. Since we expect her to appear occasionally in our editorials, we like to introduce you up and coming model Brooke Manuel with this feature and  welcome her in the Modelemi family.

So with this feature you have the opportunity to learn a little bit about Brooke in the interview, we held with her, and to take a look at some of the photos, she has done up to now.
Picture
Brooke, please tell us a little bit about yourself to begin with. (How old are you, Where were you born and where do you live now, What is your profession and do you have other besides modeling?
My name's Brooke Nichole Manuel. I'm nineteen years old. I was born in Pasadena, Texas and raised in the Midland/Odessa area. I'm a Hooters Girl at the Odessa, Texas location and I love my job but modeling has always been my dream since I was a little girl. Now that dream has become a reality and modeling has become my passion. I have such drive to become a bigger part of the industry.
Picture
What do you love most about modelling?
I love that modeling gives you a chance to express yourself. It's a form of art created by the model with the help of hair and makeup artists, photographers, stylists, etc. Also, it reminds me of playing dress up as a little girl!
Picture
Picture
What’s been the highlight of your career so far?
The highlight of my career thus far would be starring in a commercial for a motorcycle shop in Odessa called Sparky's Cycle Worx. It was much different than photoshoots and runways because it involved acting as well as modeling. Another big highlight of my career has been signing with Tim Bear's new agency Modelemi. I'm so glad to be a part of the Modelemi family!

Tell us about some of your recent shoots.
My most recent shoot was with Tim Bear. We shot on location and in his studio in China Springs. I did eight outfit changes so we got quite a few different looks which was fun!

What really goes on behind the scenes as a model?
Most may believe that modeling is just as easy as standing in front of a camera and looking pretty but that is definitely not the case. Models put a lot of time into submitting emails for model calls, networking with different people in the industry, preparing for shoots, traveling to and from shoots, etc.
Which photographers in the industry do you most enjoy working with?
I really enjoy working with Tim Bear, Johnny Golden and John Hitt.
Picture
Define your personal style.
My personal style ranges from one side of the spectrum to the other on a daily basis. One day I may be dressed in a flowery dress and the next I will be wearing all black. My favorite style would have to be grunge though.
Who would you say is your 'style muse'?
My style muse would have to be Taylor Momsen because she is the epitome of grunge!

Your favourite designer is… ?
My favourite designer at the moment would have to be either Rocky Gathercole or Midi Soliz of Black Cross.

Vogue or Harper’s Bazaar?
Vogue..definitely Vogue!

Is there any particular designer piece you are crushing on right now?
Lately, I've been crushing on one of Michael Kors' Valentine collection purses "Mercer Large Leather Tote". It's a red purse and I just love it because I think it would add a pop of color to every outfit!

What do you hope to be doing in the next 5 years?
In the next five years, I hope to be growing as a model. I would like to get more publications, shoot for brands, do runway shows, do a little acting, etc. Also, I'm currently finishing my Associates in Criminal Justice and will be graduating in May. I hope within the next few years, I will have worked my way up in the field and scored a job as either a crime scene investigator or a detective.

If you could be anywhere else but here, where would you go?
I would go to New York..I've always wanted to visit the big city because it's such a different pace than what I'm used to here at home. There are so many places that I want to see and experience there. It's a dream of mine to model in New York one day!

Victoria Sviggum ... exploring extreme characters and getting to be someone else

photos: Olga Gridina | HMUA: Victoria Lin
Living and working in London, UK, model and actress Victoria Sviggum is a versatile person, who has a lot of skills. She speaks three languages, plays piano, tennis and football. She can sing and masters several kinds of dances.

All in all she is a fascinating character and caught our eyes immediately with the first view at her photos. We are proud to got the opportunity for an interview with her. Take the chance and get to know Victoria in this feature.
Victoria, please tell us a little bit about yourself to begin with. (How old are you, Where were you born and where do you live now, What is your profession and do you have other besides modeling?
Well where do I begin? I was born in Spain, grew up in England and Germany, but I am actually Norwegian! After studying law at university, I started to pursue my life-long dream of acting – no regrets right? In the last few years I have been acting and modelling. It’s important to know that when you begin, you may not make enough to live off acting or modelling. I have had jobs in the service industry alongside to support my choice to pursue this career.

What do you love most about modelling?
What I love most about modelling is exploring extreme characters and getting to be someone else. Different makeup, crazy hair, exciting wardrobe – what’s not to love! It’s not just about a pretty picture, it’s about creating art.

What’s been the highlight of your career so far?
The highlight of my modelling career so far…I’d say, artistically, I really enjoyed my last two shoots. One was with Fay Summerfield, where the theme was punk inspired. We walked around east London and took shots when we felt inspired; such as against these great colourful graffiti-covered walls. Fay has a real eye for things and is an absolute trooper- even after quite a bad fall (it was very wet that day!), she didn’t quit until we got the best shots. I was also really happy with the styling for this shoot which I chose myself (though my hair was done by Helga Lee Tavares).
Picture
photos: Olga Gridina | HMUA: Victoria Lin

The second shoot was with Olga Gridina and was Viking themed. This shoot was great because again, we let the surroundings (Hampstead Heath) inspire us and experimented with different locations, poses, costume and makeup changes. Victoria Lin was the hair and makeup artist on this shoot and the three of us just had such a good time together!

On a personal level, a highlight of mine was reaching my body goals for a fitness shoot I did with Nicholas Dawkes. It was definitely hard work and it felt great seeing the results!

What really goes on behind the scenes as a model?
It starts well before the photoshoot. Staying fit and making sure your body is in the shape that you want takes time and consistency. As far as the photoshoot itself goes, there are instances when you spend lots of time on one type of shot and other situations when you just experiment with movement and variation more. Sometimes getting the best pose is as easy as a natural movement of the body; other times it can feel unnatural and difficult but look kick ass on film. An example of this is perhaps a fitness shoot, where you are constantly tensing your muscles to increase definition, which is quite the challenge!

Which photographers in the industry do you most enjoy working with?
I love photographers who are willing to experiment and do what it takes to get the shot. Like I touched upon before, Fay and Olga both had this attitude and weren’t afraid to get down in the mud to get a great shot (with Olga we even had to climb a fence!). I think this is important because that is also the attitude I bring to the shoot. They are also both creative and inspired which is a joy to work with. And did I mention they are both lovely too?!

Nicholas Dawkes is also one of the loveliest photographers I have ever met. He specialises in actors’ headshots but also did a fitness shoot with me. He is an absolute pro at what he does- he just knows how to make you look good and keep you laughing the entire time!
Define your personal style.
I wouldn’t say I have one definitive type of style. I wouldn’t limit myself that way. I like to mix it up and experiment. One day I might feel very natural and go for simple layers and nude tones with very little make up; other days I might feel like being edgier with darker eye make up, bold colours and strong lines in my clothing choice. I’ll rock anything from a comfy woolly jumper and Uggs to a leather jacket, boots and winged eyeliner.
Who would you say is your 'style muse'?
Because of my eclectic approach to style, I wouldn’t say I have a particular ‘style muse’. I get inspired by loads of sources, whether it’s a magazine advert, characters on tv or even people on the street – style is diverse and all around us. Don’t get me wrong- I love seeing what the celebs have worn on the latest red carpet, but when you live in London any street can be a red carpet.

Your favourite designer is… ?
I wouldn’t say I have a favourite designer. I have never really been crazy for designer brands. I think what they produce is great and of excellent quality but I think what you get on the high street can be just as visually appealing. I do love watching shows like Project Runway though, where you see the creative and artistic process a designer actually goes through. At the end of the day, I’d say I like designers who know how to work with the female form and celebrate and enhance those curves.

Vogue or Harper’s Bazaar?
Both- I just love flipping through the adverts and seeing unique concepts for photoshoots and how different models pose.
Picture
Picture
photos by Fay Summerfield
Is there any particular designer piece you are crushing on right now?
I really like aviators by Ray-Ban; in my opinion they look good on everyone.  I would love a pair with purple lenses or a rainbow effect to add to my collection.

What do you hope to be doing in the next 5 years?
In the next five years I hope to still be doing what I enjoy and working in the artistic and creative industry. Whether that is acting, modelling or something I haven’t even tried yet, life is full of surprises!

If you could be anywhere else but here, where would you go?
I would love to explore more of the world – visit the Mayan ruins in central America, go snorkelling off the coast of Thailand or go on a road trip down the west coast of California, so much to see!

It was just last week, that we once again discovered a model at German model and photographer community Model-Kartei.de.

Up and coming model and fitness trainer Sabine Bauer from Austria is an eyecatcher, whether she shows up in pants and black leather outdoors or in a long light dress on the catwalk.

Sabine, please tell us a little bit about yourself to begin with. (How old are you, Where were you born and where do you live now, What is your profession and do you have other besides modeling?
I am 23 years old and I come from Austria / Burgenland. A year ago, I finished my education as a fitness trainer and I’m currently working in a womens fitness studio next to my home. In my profession, I love to inspire fitness-oriented women, to motivate them, and above all to drive them to stay motivated.
In my spare time I like to stand in front of the camera, as I have a lot of fun with it. I love to try different fashion trends and present these in front of the camera.

What do you love most about modelling?

Most of all, I love the opportunity to stage myself again and again in a different way, to present myself and to show new facets. It is always an indescribable feeling.
What’s been the highlight of your career so far?
To my highlights I actually would count every single shooting, to which I was invited. However, if I had to list a certain highlight, it would be the model competition "Austrias next topmodel" in the year 2015, where I was allowed to represent my region in Austria as 1st runner up.

Tell us about some of your recent shoots.
I recently had a studio shooting with Harald Manzer on fashion. It was a funny shoot with great variations.
Picture
Which photographers in the industry do you most enjoy working with?
I like working with everyone very much.
Currently I love working with Thomas Mittermüller and Harald Manzer. With Thomas Mittermüller I had my very first shooting. He is now a good friend.

Define your personal style.
I love to style elegantly. In the evenings, I like to wear dresses, blazers and highheels, and I love to do the makeup and hair matching to my style.
But also during the day my look is very important to me. Even though I am more casual in jeans, I still put much value on a certain look.

Who would you say is your 'style muse'?
Lena Gercke

Your favourite designer is… ?
I’m just saving money for a Michael Kors bag.

If you could be anywhere else but here, where would you go?
New York and Maledives
What do you hope to be doing in the next 5 years?
My dream would be as for many girls, of course, to thrive as a model, travel a lot, make new contacts and maybe participate in big shows as well as catwalks.
