model Amanda Yungmann, who you already might have seen in some photos of photographer Carlo Quiogue, is based in Yokohama, Japan. Today we like to introduce her a bit more with an interview and some additional photos. Take a look and get an impression of Amanda's work yourself. |
Amanda, why modeling?
For me it's another creative form in which can be used to express myself. I have always considered myself more of an artist but when you get to work with others who also have a vision of something inspiring, that's when you can create a whole new kind of art that encourages you to keep pushing the boundaries of what you thought you could do. It's a personal challenge but fun to try.
What do you love most about modeling?
Meeting other like minded artists, whether they are models, designers, photographers, or makeup artists. You can learn a lot from them and I've made some great friends.
What’s been the highlight of your career so far?
Getting the opportunity to do fashion shows in Tokyo. It's a big name and has a global feel to it. I know many models aspire to work there so I feel lucky to say that's something that I've done.

Tell us about some of your recent shoots.
Most recent I have tried including my handmade head pieces into the shoots as a way to show off more of what I can do besides modeling. I've also been able to meet up with some awesome people who are experts in their line of work that can really help to create something new and captivating.
What really goes on behind the scenes as a model?
Behind the scenes you'll see a lot of people working hard to collaborate on something that's usually on a tight time schedule. Sometimes there are last minute changes so you'll have to be prepared to adapt and pull it off like it was meant to be that way. It can be a bit of a challenge but it's rewarding to see the results.
Which photographers in the industry do you most enjoy working with? Anyone who enjoys trying to think outside the box. Define your personal style. My everyday style I'd say is more on the casual side with focus more on what feels comfortable. Your favourite designer is… ? I really don't have one. |
Who would you say is your 'style muse'?
Actually it's a good friend of mine who is also a makeup artist. She can do a variety of styles and pull them off naturally. I'm very lucky to have met her those many years ago.
Vogue or Harper’s Bazaar?

Is there any particular designer piece you are crushing on right now?
