photo by Colin Anderson | We spotted her on a photo by Colin Anderson. Up and coming model Kirsty Wright immediately convinced us with her appearance. That's why we asked her for an interview. We were lucky and she agreed. Here we are to show you the interview and several of Kirsty's amazing photos. Have a look and don't hesitate to contact her, if you like to work with this beautiful model. |
Kirsty, please tell us a little bit about yourself to begin with. (How old are you, Where were you born and where do you live now, What is your profession and do you have other besides modeling?
I am 18 years old, born, raised and live in the North East of England. Besides freelance fashion, commercial, catwalk modelling and promo modelling I am a student studying Level 3 extended certificate in fitness services at Newcastle college and I have a part time job as a cashier. Also I compete in pageants, at the beginning of this year I was crowned Miss Crown and Glory Photogenic 2017 and in June I was crowned Miss Newcastle Galaxy 2017/18. I go to nationals to compete for Miss Galaxy England in March 2018! I can’t wait, so excited!!! Also for this I am raising money for the charity The Christie NHS Foundation. I am enthusiastic about what I do, I am a very hard working, determined person always putting 110% effort into everything I do. I’m chatty, polite, well mannered, out going and very easy to get along with. I would also describe myself as unpretentious. I'm open, honest and straight forward I don’t try to impress anyone. I do things for my own benefit or to help others. I get told, I’m one of the most mature 18 year olds anyone has ever met. I get told, I am admirable as I am clear in my ambitions.

What really goes on behind the scenes as a model?
A lot of thought into outfits, hair styles and make-up to match the photographers requirements or the brief given.

photo by Stephen Beecroft | I love being creative I have a GCSE in Textiles at a grade A and I have a BETEC in Art and Design 1&2 at two grads of Merit Merit. So, choosing my own outfits and doing my own make-up, I can show my creative side. A lot of practicing, knowing what poses and angles suit you and your body is key and training. Going to the gym with my personal trainer, making sure, I stay in shape. I always get along really well with photographers. A lot of laughs and fun times happen on shoots. Everyone gets along so well. Photoshoots are a very enjoyable time. I ALWAYS look forward to them! |
What do you love most about modelling?
The fact, that I can be myself, and how it has opened so many doors for me, I’ve met a whole new community of wonderful people all across the UK and it has made me so much more confident in myself as a person as I was bullied throughout most of my education years in school and at the beginning of college. This knocked me back a lot. However, I feel like if that didn't happen to me, I wouldn’t be here now, as I would have already been confident, as I started all this for a confidence boost.
What’s been the highlight of your career so far?
Being published by companies and getting the opportunities to work with agencies and model managers. And the fact, that I am able to train others, that are wanting to get into the modelling industry. Seeing their progression is amazing!

The photoshoot with Collin was more of a every day fashion look, I wore a white body suit from Zara, a lined skirt with gold look buttons from Primark, paler coat from Primark and black ankle boots with a gold look detail from Garage Shoes.

Which photographers in the industry do you most enjoy working with?
Richard Davison, Stephen Beecroft, Ian Wallis, Phil Reay, Collin Anderson and Christina Hunter. All these photographers are amazing to work with, and I’ve loved the images, I’ve received back off them. They are all so easy to get along with and are incredible, when it comes to shooting. They all support me throughout my modelling and pageantry, but constantly giving me advice on how to get even better and further in my career.

Who would you say is your 'style muse'?
I don’t look up to anyone for ‘style’. I put all my own outfits together. I wear, what I think works, what makes me feel good as I feel like this way my style can show, who I truly am. If an outfit, that you wear, doesn’t make you feel good, what’s the point in wearing it??

Your favourite designer is… ? I have two, Rachel Allan and Mac Duggal. You feel like a princess wearing their garments! Vogue or Harper’s Bazaar? Vogue. I have followed Vogue for a few years. The fashion shown is just absolutely astonishing like WOW! Vogue, I’m speechless, it's just amazing, so stylish, so up my street. | photos by Phil Reay Photography |

What do you hope to be doing in the next 5 years? I hope to have completed a degree as well as traveling nationally and internationally with my potentially new model management, big things are happening!! If you could be anywhere else but here, where would you go? If I could be anywhere I would go to America but more specifically New York! It is a dream of mine to visit that amazing beautiful lively city! | photos by Teeny Photography |
