Claudia, please tell us a little bit about yourself to begin with. (How old are you, Where were you born and where do you live now, What is your profession and do you have other besides modeling?
My name is Claudia García Delgado and I´m seventeen years old. Now I am studying 2º Bachiller on the island of Tenerife, my place of birth. Next year I will start a nursing degree in Madrid and I want to enter one of the most important modeling agencies in Spain.

 photos by: Matthew Smith | What do you love most about modeling? I love the photography side of modeling. I started as a model when I was fourteen years old. At that moment I was taking pictures all day and a few months later I wanted to do a professional photo shoot. When I had the opportunity to do it, I fell in love with it. |
What´s been the highlight of your career so far?
In the last years I have been living a lot of new experiences and the most I liked, was a fashion show in Feboda (Tenerife), with one of the best designers on the island. He made many beautiful designs and one of my dreams was wearing one of them.

Tell us about some of your recent shoots.
One of my last photo shoots was with the photographer Jaime Morro. I have worked with him several times and in our last shoot, we took some pictures from a famous brand of Spain “EE exclusive”, of which I am the image.

We chose a place and we went on an adventure, to discover new places and take some photos. What really goes on behind the scenes as a model? In my opinion one of the most important things between the model and the photographer is the connection. I really enjoy working as a model and I smile a lot, so that makes the shoots better. |
Which photographers in the industry do you most enjoy working with?
I did shoots with Spanish and international photographers and the majority of them are enjoyable. They have different personalities and styles. One of my favourite pictures is from Jaime Morro, who is from Tenerife, and he is also the photographer I have worked with the most. Sebastian Berndt is a German photographer, which I worked with twice. I really like his style. And another good photographer I have worked with is Hector Cruz. When I began as a model, no one gave me an opportunity and when I met him, he gave it to me. So I am very grateful to him.

Define your personal style.
I like to see different pictures from famous magazines or from the internet. I have my personal style in my photos and never copy any pose or idea. When I am in front of the camera, instantly I begin to strike a pose, I really like it and that me feel good inside.
Who would you say is your style muse?
My style muse is Cara Delevingne, because she is a popular young model nowadays. I really like her style, I think that she is just a bit older than me and we have a very similar personality as models. I started to know about her in a movie and soon thereafter I began to see her in all the important brands. I have even seen some videos of her working, and she is very serious and responsible but fun, like me. I completely identify with her.
 design by: Sedomir Rodriquez de la Sierra | Your favourite desiger is…? In my island there are lots of famous designers and in my opinion, all of them are really good at their job. It´s difficult to chose, but one of my favourite designers is Sedomir Rodriguez de la Sierra. He is very talented and his designs are awesome. Sometimes I have had the opportunity to model for him, it was a dream come true. Vogue or Harper´s Bazaar? I prefer Vogue magazine. Is there any particular designer piece you are crushing on right now? No. |
What do you hope to be doing in the next 5 years?
The nursing degree that I want to start next year in Madrid, lasts four years, so in that time I will do some advertisements, photo shoots and important fashion shows.
If you could be anywhere else but here, where would you go?
This is a very interesting question. One of my objectives in life is to travel around the world. I want to visit a lot of different countries, such as, USA (New York), Switzerland, Sweden, England, Russia, etc. I wouldn´t mind staying some time there.
