Sarah, the photographer, we like to introduce you, is living in the Uckermark in the north eastern part of Germany. She’s 21 years old and an aspiring teacher. She always did a lot of testing with digital cameras, but three years ago Sarah bought her first DSLR and began to consciously work with manual settings and natural light. Mainly she initially took pictures of her best friend, her boyfriend and family. As some of them have set their photos online, there came a lot of positive |
feedback and so Sarah started trying to set up her own page on Facebook.
During her student days in Rostock she then submitted a request in a university community and since then she has worked with several students on tfp basis. Since Sarah stopped her studies and came back home in the Uckermark, the number of sessions has unfortunately been drastically reduced. So it was, that she began increasingly to take pictures of herself in order to continue to live out her hobbies. Sarah also has learned a lot about herself, because photos allow you to take a look on yourself from a distance. |
Her favorite area is portrait photography, preferably outdoors. Sarah is a very nature-loving person and loves to express emotions in her photos. She thinks, that her photos with the combination of expressive faces and natural background get a certain ‘sound’. Since she’s doing a social year in playschool, Sarah has developed a passion for children photography. She loves the natural and honest way, children behave in front of the camera. Unfortunately she could not yet do not publish pictures of it. |
Sarah’s equipment is a Canon 1100D with a 50mm f1.8 fixed focal length lens and a 4in1 reflector. However, Sarah is of the opinion, that photography is not necessarily technic driven, but rather to
play with the look, that you have for the overall picture and the way, you interprete it. For her self-portraits she also has a tripod and a remote trigger. Recently Sarah also wants to go increasingly into the model direction. “It's a good opportunity to express feelings, develop myself, to socialize and learn something new even for me. Because I want to learn about how it is to stand in front of the camera, to be able to put myself so perfectly as possible into my models.” |
