Concerning his profession Giacomo Zucca’s life began quite stuffy with a training as a banker directly after graduation from high school. Of his salary he then bought his first SLR camera after he had taken many landscape shots with a Canon compact camera before. At that time he had no idea of photographing.

Giacomo’s first camera was a Nikon D60 with a simple 18-55mm lens. From then on he was captivated by photography. This was followed by    reading   stacks   of   books   and   magazines,

especially fashion and women's magazines, which was a win-win situation for his girlfriend at that time. She could read the journals and therefor often stood in front of Giacomo’s camera.

A short time later Giacomo for the first time held a Canon 40D of a friend in his hand. At that moment he was infected by Canon. He doesn’t want to start any comparisons, but he simply preferred the feeling of the 40D. So Giacomo bought a used 40D together with a 50mm f1.8 lens and made the first available light shootings.

That was the moment, he really started off with photography. He joined workshops at a professional photographer in Cologne, did the first model shoot and set up a home studio.

Meanwhile he again works in the area of analog photography and also in this is working with the Canon EOS System (EOS 1, 5 and EOS EOS 100). The analog medium format he covers with a Mamiya 645 Super. The analog negatives in KB-format he scans himself with a 7200 dpi scanner. The medium format negatives Giacomo gives away to let them scan. For portraits he often put on larger focal lengths and reflected light. His favorite lenses are the 85mm f2.8 f1.2 and 70-200mm.

In addition to many jobs in people photography he also is working as a press and street photographer.  So be aware of Giacomo taking a photo also of you during your walk through Cologne’s city.
