Photographer Anna Coleman is living in Lacey, Washington, USA. She picked up a dslr Nikon D3000 back in 2010. Anna still shoots with this camera.

Picture

Before she fell into portrait work, Anna started with nature photos. She has a full time job, so that photography is only a hobby for her.

Anna has done a wide range of portrait work; family, newborn, maternity and senior sessions. She feels like she’s finding her voice and passion in more artistic and edgy portraiture. Anna enjoys doing fun edits on images to create a piece of art. She doesn't follow the traditional rules of photography, which she think is a benefit to her work. 'Rules were meant to be broken!'

A lot of pictures Anna takes of her niece Mariah, who’s almost always her muse.

Today we are able to provide you some insides on Phoenix Aperture and his photographer Dali

Dali, who feels lucky to have the same name as the great Salvador Dali, is a Californian travel and wedding photographer. With his background in philosophy and life in Britain, he's keen to bring the British philosophical style to his photos.

He always prefers very simple settings on the street. Dali uses a 5D Mark III and occasionally Olympus Pen. That's about it, no hard flash, no overwhelming light setups. He enjoys playing with shadows and lights, as well as the colours, that resides in the depth of the city streets.

Dali enjoys traveling, seeing the world. His favourite location has always been Europe, the cobblestones and yellow brick walls. The things, that trigger a sense of history and story.

... is the name, that's given to his work by photographer SC Photography
Picture

As key account manager in a consulting house in Germany SC Photography has many stressful days. To have a balancing to work, he found his new hobby and passion for photography.

Because he did not just wanted to photograph without any sense, he decided to have a project in order to win the visitors of his pages with interesting photos. He calls the project "Stranger". He’s asking people in Frankfurt and Hamburg on the street and makes spontaneous photos with them, which are regular people who have no or little bit experience in front of the camera. Therefore, it is difficult to find people, who participate and on the other hand also to get authentic photos with unexperienced people.

If he’s publishing the photos, he usally writes a little story how he got the photos (most of the photos have embarrassing or funny stories behind) and even adds information of the people to it (if the poeple reveal the information by itself).

His dream is to shoot photos for a modeling agency or to make a big journey to shoot photos around the world.

... today photographer Wilson Gonzales enjoys shooting portraits
Picture

Wilson Gonzales is  a Filipino, working as an Electronics Engineer in Singapore. He is an amateur photographer and mostly doing photography on weekends as a hobby and also enjoy retouching. He mostly shoots fashion portraits.

Back in 2012, when Wilson bought his first DSLR, which is the Canon 60D, he started shooting landscapes and some macro. It was a good foundation for learning the basic fundamentals of photography like composition and exposure.

After a year, he upgraded to Canon 6D and the same year Wilson started shooting portraits by joining photography enthusiasts groups in Singapore. He really enjoyed shooting portraits and making his images better in retouching by applying his own unique style.

In 2014 Wilson has explored strobes and is using off camera flash until today. He finds it more appealing, creative and professional looking. This also improved his photos, when paired with the right light modifiers. His post processing time has also eased up.

more attention to the inner aspects of a photo ...

... as on the outside appearance of his models pays photographer Fabio Zenoardo
Picture

Photographer Fabio Zenoardo is living and working in Imperia, a city in northern Italy.

Fabio is a photographer and as well as a videomaker. He’s director of photography, does the shooting, the editing and also the post-production.

When creating his photos, Fabio pays more attention on the inner aspects as on the external appearance of his models.  For him it is not so important to show, how beautiful a model is. It is more to give a message, to turn outside his and also the models inner feeling.

It makes him really happy, if the feedback, he gets on his photos, let him realize, that the viewer is touched by his message.

Instead of working in a studio, Fabio prefers to look for suitable locations to his message. He also makes maximum use of natural light.

Fabio is shooting with a 5d mkiii and the lenses, that he loves, are the Sigma 35 1.4 ART, the Canon 85 f1.2, f2.8 and 70 200 LII.

creating concepts with a 'wow' factor ...

... is, what photographer Stefan Legacy likes
Picture

Stefan Legacy is a portrait and conceptual photographer based in Edmonton, Alberta. He got into photography about 3 years ago after seeing some images on Flickr, that inspired him to look at things differently through the lens of a camera. So Stefan bought a DSLR and taught himself in photography through Youtube videos.

The need to create beauty and be inspiring drives his pursuit in the art. Fashion magazines like Vogue and Elle are a few of his inspirations for editorial work. Stefan’s concept work is usually inspired from details, that happen in his every day life.

Currently he is shooting with a Nikon D7000 and he prefers prime lenses over zooms. The 35mm 1.8g and the 50mm 1.8d being his main go to lenses.

He also has a deep love for film photography, which also inspires him to think differently as a photographer and compose his shots more carefully. Stefan owns 4 film cameras with the Pentax K1000 being his go to film camera.

„I would say I just want to create art with my photography, create concepts that have a "wow" factor to them and continue to learn new techniques to help with my craft.“ (Stefan Legacy)

For Stefan photography is a highly opinionated art. So if his photos draw different opinions, then he’s on the right path as a photographer.

The image with the burning rose is a portrait of Stefan himself.
