Photographer Darius Ollison always looked at things in a different way, but never thought he’d be doing what he’s doing now back in high school.
For Darius photography started off with taking cell phone pictures on his flip phone of sunsets. He was always disappointed with how his phone captured sunsets and wanted to do the beauty of the sunset’s justice. Eventually he upgraded to a point and shoot but his photos still weren’t very good. His next step up was shooting with a Canon Rebel XT. That was his first real camera and learning tool. Now after transitioning from the Canon Rebel XT to a Canon 40D to the Canon 7D Darius is shooting with a Canon 6D with a few really amazing prime lenses. It’s been a long rewarding journey.
Darius started getting serious about his portrait work, when he got his Canon 7D. Before he had played around with portrait photography but didn’t make it one of his main pursuits. Not too long after getting the7D, he started shooting with models. The vast bulk of his experience has been from shooting with models to discover his style.
The thing, that will always drive Darius to keep taking photos is creating artwork and never being satisfied. He had a flickr and followed photographers long before he picked up a camera. On flickr he can always find a photographers work, that inspires him to get better or try something new.
