grunge meets elegance

It was late in the afternoon, when photographer Carsten Schmidthaus met with models Clarissa and Jasmin for a photo shooting. "Shall we really drive to the agreed location? It looks very much as if a thunderstorm would come up" said Clarissa. "That's why we go now and take advantage of the warm light!" so Carsten's answer.
Picture
The two girls were ready made up and they could right away start with taking photos, when they arrived at the agreed location, a so called 'lost place' with an old blast furnace. Carsten was equipped with his Canon 6D - 50 / 1.4 + 85 / 1.8 lenses and a Canon 600 with softbox. The light was not really easy to handle for Carsten, because the sun still was very high. He needed to soften the shadows with a Joe McNally softbox. That was the best choice for him in this moment, cause they couldn't wait any longer to take the photos; the thunderstorm indeed would come within a short time.

Clarissa was shining in noble elegance while Jasmin came a bit sassy  in her grunge styling. At the chosen location there were a lot of different opportunities for really interesting settings. So they could capture a number of images even the time was short. In addition to the thunderstorm they unexpectedly were notified by an announcement, that the location will be closed for that day.

But they for sure will go there again
. With the experience of that today the next shooting will be even better.

classic car workshop

It was afternoon ... 4 pm ... photographer Carsten Schmidthaus of IMAGO-CS wanted to pick up his car from the workshop. While he was waiting, a car transporter with an old Mercedes drove up.

Ferat Avci, the owner of the workshop, explained, that this is a Daimler DB219 build in 1958. Directly the interest to photograph these beautiful classic car awakened in Carsten. The result was a plan to take pictures of the car without any public on a Sunday. This shoot should be done in the workshop.

In the planning phase then the idea came up, that it were simply too unspectacular to take photos only of the car.
And while they were talking about it, Lena appered. Just as Carsten she wanted to pick up her repaired car.

Picture
As soon as Ferat and Carsten have reported their idea with the car, ideas about her participation in this shoot with an appropriate outfit were gushing out of Lena.

At the appointed time they met in the workshop, really in the mood for this shoot and Lena was focused on meeting the various fun tasks around the car. Carsten was armed with a Canon 6D - Sigma 24-105mm F4 ART DG OS HSM - Canon RT 600 with Softbox Lastolite "Joe McNally".

A great team was very satisfied at the end of the day to have created brilliant photos.

photographer Ioanna Strelitzien loves to travel ... to discover herself and she loves nature, where she spend her free time ... always with her camera.

Ioanna photographs everything, that has to tell her a story and her magic word is 'combining'.
So she combines her passion, poetry, music, nature, her fears, feelings and dreams, trying to express herself with and in her photos.

For this shooting Ioanna worked with model Cecilia Gabriella Danciu, who is a friend of her. According to Ioanna Cecilia is a very sweet nature. She studies veterinary medicine and models besides this from time to time. They both met once in Greece, where Ioanna was lucky also to take some pictures of Cecilia.

The location and background in this shoot was Bánnfy-Castle in Romania. The original planning was, that Cecilia only wanted to show the castle to Ioanna. It was cold and the sun almost gone. So, since Ioanna was armed only with her Nikon D7100, quite bad conditions for photographing, but anyhow they decided to use the available light and to quickly take a couple of photos, which are
in our point of view very well done.

skater girl

Today we like to show you a skater shooting, that really impressed us. It was created in Plettenberg for the inauguration of the new skating track at the school center.

First of all photographer Carsten Schmidthaus of IMAGO-CS had to find a suitable model, which was available even the timeline was quite short. He looked at the potential candidate models on facebook and then decided to ask Jasmin Hirschfeld. A very good choice, as we see. Jasmin provided the outfit and also has done the make-up on her own.

After Carsten then had picked up Jasmin, they went directly to the new skating track. There it was, however, incredibly crowded. The two would had to wait a long time before they could have started with their shoot and in addition certainly a lot of people would have stared at them during the shoot.

Once they had decided to drop the shoot and were a bit frustrated on their way back, the old skating track in the neighboring town came in their mind. Once there, they found it totally empty. So they were alone and had enough space for the shoot and more than this also perfect lighting conditions. And off they went with available light and a Canon 6D with Canon 85 / 1.8 lens and a sunbounce zebra mini refelector.

Although Jasmin upfront the shoot told Carsten, that she is not experienced in modeling, Carsten clearly says, that Jasmin has given everything and with the help of her sister Clarissa in a short time brilliant photos were taken. Most Carsten was impressed by Jasmin to be able to perfectly fill the role of a skater girl.

For us both of them did a great job. Congrats.

By coincidence photographer Rolf Hermann of RH-Pictures in early January discovered a photo of his new model Jasmin on Facebook. He simply asked her, if she would like to join for a test-shooting ... without knowing that she is just 16 years young, "what by the way you don't realize even you face her directly" so Rolf Hermann.
The initial skepticism of her and her mother disappeared very quickly after the first "introductory conversation". They agreed on a first test-shooting mid of January ... outdoor. It was terribly cold and uncomfortable, but Jasmin did an amazing job ... and her mom looked at her ... shivering.
Here Rolf Hermann realized, how much potential Jasmin has and meanwhile completed several shootings with her. Jasmin always works with great enthusiasm and a lot of fun, so that for Rolf Hermann it always is a pleasure to have her in front of his camera.

"It is quite amazing, how fast Jasmin develops regarding her poses, facial expressions and mutability", so Rolf Hermann. With her size of 6 feet (184 cm) and her sporty shape Rolf Hermann expects her to be ideal also for runway jobs.

In this article we show you the photos of their latest shooting in early March. For this shoot Rolf Hermann deliberately omitted distracting accessories. A neutral white background ... a chair ... and Jasmin! A purist photo set, which doesn't miss the intended effect.

The pictures are taken by Rolf Hermann with a Sony SLT-A58, ISO 200 and a small studio flash.
