Starting only some years ago as a model in her home country, the Netherlands, today Laura Verloop is owner of the model agency Dutch Model Management in Izmir, Turkey.

We got the chance for an interview with this amazing model and agency boss and like to provide you some impressions of her work:
Laura, please tell us a little bit about yourself to begin with. (How old are you, where were you born and where do you live now, what is your profession and do you have other besides modeling business?
I'm Laura Charlie Elise Verloop, 23 years old. I was born in Holland (Nijmegen) and right now i live in beautiful Izmir (Turkey). I run my own model agency in Izmir with my partner Deniz Kurt.

How did you start in the modeling business?
I started when i was 16 years old. I was looking on the internet for photographers. I found a page and started writing them. I got a lot of positive comments and that's how the ball started to roll. I became more motivated and worked hard on my book. After 2 years of investing my time, i had enough courage to apply with an agency. It started with promotional jobs and when i was 18 i started doing direct jobs in other countries. At the age of 19 i went to Istanbul and i fell in love with the city. I understood from that point that Turkey could offer me the best opportunities.

How did you start Dutch Model Management and why?
I started Dutch Model Management 6 months ago. After modeling for years, i felt like i had to make a choice. I graduated from Hotel Management and that would be a waste not to do anything with this background. So it came to my mind to combine modeling and entrepreneurship. My boyfriend is from Turkey and he helped me a lot. I told him that i didn't wanted to leave him, so i had to continue as a model or find a regular job in Turkey. Then it came my mind of starting my own agency and run it in a 'Dutch way'. Me and my partner build it up together. Its not only 'caviar & champagne' to run your own business, but we made a nice first step. My partner owns a advertisement agency in Izmir, so this is perfect for me, because he has a lot of clients.

What’s a typical day like for a booker?

Our booker is working right next to me. She is calling to clients, emailing and updating everyone. Goes to appointments with me. She translates for me, because my Turkish is unfortunately not perfect.. Also she is writing to our girls and at the same time she is like a big sister.

How do you renew talent in such a fast-paced and competitive industry?
Me and my partner work with some agencies and they propose us beautiful girls. We find also a lot of girls on Facebook. For us measurements and face are very important, because we don't look for 'the standard' model. We need girls with size 36/38. I always choose the girls by myself and communicate this with my partner.

Is there a special formula to find the right model for a specific campaign?
It depends on what kind of campaign of course.. In Izmir we shoot a lot of dresses and bridal. We always look for a girl with a sweet and soft facial expression. The right measurements for here are: 84/90-62/67-92/97. Also energy is very important i guess. If the model has positive energy you can feel it and see it when you get the results of the pictures.

What are the changes you have seen in the industry throughout your career and what has changed?
I'm not sure if i haven't seen any changes, because i always focused on my work in Istanbul.
Do a lot of new faces come to you via social media?
Yes, that's how we most of the time approach them. It is very helpful.

What would be your definition of beauty?
My definition of beauty is a girl with a natural face, brains, positive energy, motivated and knows what she wants in life.

Any advice to give to aspiring models?
I want to tell them, not to change for anyone. If you feel happy with the way you are, you should never change it. There is a market for everyone. Besides that, dream big!

What are the rewarding aspects of your job?
Meeting amazing people. Also the fact that hard works pays off. (literally and figuratively) ;-)

Your favourite designer is… ?
Karl Lagerfeld

Vogue or Harper’s Bazaar?
Vogue!

Is there any particular designer piece you are crushing on right now?
It might sound strange, but nothing really came up. The only obsession is have are Pomellato rings. I love them! They're elegant and timeless.

What do you hope to be doing in the next 5 years?

I hope my agency will be successful. I don't want to become the biggest, as long as i have fun and run it in a structured way. Me and the girls are like family and i love this feeling. When they work, they work hard, but in home we all come together as sisters.

If you could be anywhere else but here, where would you go?
I would be in Canada to visit my family together with my dad.

She's a personal shopper, stylist, fashion and lifestyle blogger. 24 year old Moldovan blogger Mariana Nichifor is based in Moscow, Russia, now for about 4 years. We discovered her, cause her photographer, Alexander Plonsky, posted some photos, he took for her blog "The Kingdomstyle", in Streetfashion MagZZine's Facebook group. So we decided to contact her and were lucky to get an interview with her about her blog and her experiences in fashion and blogging.
Mariana, can you tell our readers about yourself and your blog?
I am Mariana Nichifor, a fashion, art, books and writing consumer. Blogging is my latest and the most strenuous passion. I am twenty-four years old. I was born in Republic of Moldova, a small country, but a lovely one. I have been living in Moscow for almost 4 years. Althought I studied  the International  Humanitarian Law, the fashion industry was always a part of me. Blogging is also a part of me, I like so much what I am doing and strive to do the best. “The Kingdomstyle”, I can say, was born 3 moths ago and it means style, beauty, fashion and travellings. The next year I am going to apply for a Mastery degree in Fashion History and Theory.

Describe how did you first get into blogging?
Before starting the blog I bone up on a subject. It is a long way, I follow other fashion blogs, magazines and even movies about fashion. I have another blog where I write my memories and that’s why it was a little bit easy from the technical side.

What inspired you to start your blog?
In general, fashion, art, life in big cities and travellings inspired me to start my blog. In addition to that I would like to say this is such area you can work wherever you want and you can be your own boss.

Who has impacted you most in blogging and how?
My parents blessed me with something very important and I am very thankful to them. These gifts are independence and freedom, thus I am not influenced by anybody. I can make my choices, all the more in blogging. I wanted to start a blog. So I started it.

Did you have any professional help or did you created the blog yourself?
Nobody helped me professionally to create my blog. I did the work myself. All I create is due to my  great team. They are: Alexander Plonsky, the fashion photographer, the make-up artists and my best friend, Galina Gudumac.

What was the most challenging moment in your blogging journey so far?
The most challenging moment in my blogging journey was a photosession in rain that lasted a lot. At Mercedes Benz Fashion Week I forgot all the invitations at home and they were the invitations for the fashion shows. There are several moments but they can only amuse us, not challenge in any case.

Can you tell me about few sources from where you get products for review on your site?
As a rule, I work with designers. I had a wonderful cooperation with Paulina FAbrro.  At the moment I am  in touch with Modify, Arhipova.Moscow, Varvara Andreeva, Ana Pryakhina.  I'm going to work with accessories designers from Moscow.

Can you name some of your favourite bloggers and explain why they are your favourites?
I hold thesartorialist.com, cocorosa.com, garancedore.com  in high regard for  the style, finesse and freedom  they deal with life style and fashion in general.

Have you met anyone interesting/famous on your blogging journey?
I think my blog isn’t famous, it’s just part of me and for everyone us fame has a different meaning.

What is the biggest difference in your life post-blogging?
In real life I am mostly  without make-up, but on the blog I have  always  make-up. In my life post-blogging I don’t wear high heeled. Moscow is a big city and high heeled footwear can be sometimes uncomfortable.

Is blogging your profession or just a hobby?
Blogging is just one of my  hobbies. Despite this I apply great effort, because of my family life. My family members support me in every situation. I  owe everything to my family, especially my mother. She gifted me great intellectual powers.
Who was your first style icon?
I have  been inspired enormously by the popular British actress and model, Audrey Hepburn, through the role in the film 'Breakfast at Tiffany's'.

Who takes the majority of your photos?
I can say I am a lucky person, because I met the photographer Alexander Plonsky and all my pictures are taken by him. He is very talented.

What would you say that is the biggest challenge about fashion blogging?
The biggest challenge about fashion blogging is the fierce competition and customers. Sometimes, uninformed designer don’t realize that blogging is an important tool in promoting their business.  The blog is one of the newest tools of marketing, very effective.

How would you describe your personal style and is there a person who is a fashion inspiration to you?
I can’t say I have a single style. My favorite is casual style, but I enjoy wearing grunge, baroc boho chic or minimalist style. I like so much Rachel Zoe, her relaxed style, fringes and fluffy dresses.

What would you say that is the greatest satisfaction of being a fashion blogger? (Invitations to fashion events, interaction with people, gifts, etc.)
Invitations to fashion shows are my greatest satisfaction being a fashion blogger. Besides, I meet a lot of smart people.
Thank you for your  exciting interview. It was a pleasure for me.

We like to thank you Mariana and will follow your interesting blog also in the future.
