Last week we discovered a great photo of Patrick Arthur Treffers, for which he had planned the shoot as a photo assignment for his school: "Originally it was planned that we would have a photo session in the studio, but it was too crowded, so I went out with the team. Across the street from my school is a great old factory building so that we used the space around that place. The theme of the shoot was men & women only inspired of different work out the urban fashion. I asked my team to bring everyday clothes, which strengthens their character / extended to the public, in different categories as spare time, sport, business, school etc.
For the shown picture Patrick was equipped with a Canon 5dMk3 and a Sigma 24-70 lens. He worked in 63mm, f/ 5,6, 1/200 sec’ and Iso 250 to bring in the colour tone back. Additionally to these camera settings Patrick used one light (profoto B1) with a big 219cm silver parabolic umbrella (westcott) on the right side of model Annemarie. He used the egde of the umbrella to feather the light. "The great thing of using a big light source is the fact, that you can play around a lot with the light direction and the fall off is a lot more gentle in comparison whit a softbox. Why silver? I wanna have some extra punch and crispiness to my shot and bring the smal detail more to the public" so Patrick.
