Today we continue the "public places project" series of photographer Harry Wilcken. The most recent model for his project is Lisa Molenbroek, a 23 year Dutch student of Creative Therapy Drama in Amersfoort. She had some modelling experience, but it was her first photoshoot outside the studio. |
The location and model where a success, with at the end a very nice set of photos according to Harry, even though the weather was tricky, a combination of rain and sun, with even a rain shower, that lasted around 10 minutes during which Lisa had to shelter herself in the fitting room – a “tent”.
In one location they managed to use different sceneries: grass, water, a pier and 2 m high poles, where Lisa climbed and posed with high heels.
Lisa told us: “During the shoot I had to stand on wooden poles that were like 2 meters high while wearing heels, which was kind of scary to me because I’m a bit afraid of heights but it was a fun experience nonetheless.” For this photoshoot Harry used his Nikon D-810 with a 85mm 1.8 lens, one speed light on a stand without light modifiers and a small light reflector (silver). Unfortunately not everything went as smooth as it seems, at the end of the session, Harry's main camera failed (showing a big “ERR” on the screen) and forced him to switch to a back-up camera, a Nikon D-300 with a 24-85 mm lens. Luckily it was in the last 5 minutes of the shoot. It can always happen and to every photographer, so they must be prepared to have a second option as Harry learned the hard way back in the day of film photography. |
Thanks to both of you for giving us permission to publish the photos in Streetfashion MagZZine.
