Sevilla is the capital of Andalusia, the southern region of Spain and one of it’s most interesting events provide the background for our portrait of this amazing city. The photos, shown in this article, were captured by Dolors and Joan, a photographing couple, doing photography jointly between each other. While their trips they take snapshots of what they see in the streets without any previous preparation. For them it is a satisfaction, which is reflected in their work as in this case in the |
streets of Sevilla during the ‚Feria de Abril’, the spring festival in Sevilla.
The origins of the ‚Feria de Abril’, the April Fair, are in 1846, when Narciso Bonaplata y José María de Ybarra signed a proposition presented to the City Council requesting authorization for the days 19, 20 and 21 April to held an annual fair. Since that time the Seville Fair is held every year on the third week after Easter, between days Tuesday to Sunday and take place at Barrio de los Remedios, characterized by horses and bullfighting as well as the Flamenco style |
dressed people, which you can see in this wonderful photos of Dolors and Joan.
Looking at the pictures you feel like placed in the middle of this great event. More of the fantastic photos you find in the Flickr-Album of Dolors and Joan. |
