Beginning of this week we met model Isabella Oxelqvist for a winter fashion shoot in Gothenburg, Sweden.

"For this photo session I choosed a classic but still fashionable style. The session took place in Gothenburg at different places around the city, it was a little bit rainy but otherwise all good. Usually I love to dress in dark clothes in the wintertime, it gives a nice silhouette and brings out my features and colours.

An important style rule, if you wanna dress fashionable, is, that your bag or shoes should have an exclusive better brand. That way your hole outfit will look exclusive. The rest of the clothes you can choose what ever you think will fit and you will always look your best." said Isabella.

Last summer one of Streetfashion MagZZine's photographers did an editorial shooting for ACQUO boots of Sweden with Swedish topmodel Jasmine Sjöberg Sidibe and Streetfashion MagZZine featured one of the pictures from the shoot as cover picture for September 2016. Last week we met Jasmine again for an ACQUO winter shoot at a local beach close to Gothenburg in Sweden.
“Last year’s shooting took place in Marstrand, a small Swedish sailors’ Mecca close to Gothenburg. This year, we chose a more remote location to show the variety of occasions the boots can be worn to.”, photographer Helmut Jeels explained while making his way through high grass and over a rock-covered and icy beach.

Jasmine, who, as an experienced and professional model, is used to extreme conditions during shootings, laughed the cold away. “It is minus 5 degrees today, which is almost mild for Swedish winter. I am really happy though that the boots are over-knee’s, so my legs stay warm.”

Shooting under extreme conditions, such as minus degrees or burning heat, always presents a challenge to everyone from model and photographer to the rest of the crew. While the models might be freezing in a dress standing on slippery or wet ground, photographer and crew must deal with cold-related issues such as reduced battery life of cameras or keeping their equipment safe from rain or snowfall.

Today's fashion trends are also developing on the darker side of the colour palette. Edginess of the septum ring and tights are combined with a naive look and cat-ear beanie, all enveloped in dark colours with a pop of blue in the eyes and on the lips. Certainly alluring and dangerous at the same time!

The photos for this style of model Isidora Vucicevic were taken in Cacak, Serbia, by photographer Dusko Lukovic with a Nikon D600 and 80-200mm f2,8 lens.

Cinecittà Roma Festival Europeo

20/1/2017

Early december 2016 the first edition of the 'Super Final Festival Europeo' took place at Cinecitta in Rome, Italy. From this event reports for us international model and fashion-blogger Miroslava Vanharova:
"A press conference for the upcoming long expected fashion event was held on November 28, 2016 in Hotel Capannelle in Rome. The first edition of the fashion event called Super Final Festival Europeo 1st edition - Photography, Fashion Designers and Photo Models, took place on December 3, 2016 at Theatre 1 Cineccitta in the Film and Art Studios in Rome that turned the scene into a big fashion event called Festival Europeo. The organizer, author and artistic director of the event Alexandra Titova wanted to combine four amazing art forms and above all she wanted to combine fashion and photography.
Picture
The fashion event was the culmination of a connection between art of fashion, design, photography and modelling. It consisted of four parts - best fashion designer, best photographer, best photo model and cover girl. There were plenty of interesting and familiar faces, young fashion and creative talents, upcoming artists, experienced presenters, experienced talents in fashion and photography, and fashion experts and fashion bloggers. General public was also welcome, not only from the world of fashion and modelling, but also every fashion soul, fashion blogger and stylist. Professional make-up artists from Make Up-Agency Trucco Professionale Daniela Argiolas/Rome, professional team of fashion stylists and hair stylists and people fascinated by fashion and fashion trends participated on this event. Invited guests were the X Factor 2012 participant, Italian singer Mahmood, break dancer Jacopo Peone and Claudia Filipponi – finalist of Miss Italy 2014.
Picture
The whole evening was accompanied by brilliant fashion presenters - fantastic Jane Alexander and personable Fabrizio Imas, who is also a famous actor. The jury led by its chairman Maurizio Valdarnini -director and supervisor of the Institute of Photography and Communication in Rome was in charge of the greatest challenge of the event.

The jury members were: Riccardo Gubian - President of the Rome Fashion Week, Luca di Fonso - model and fashion blogger, who works in London, Max Moor - International photographer and artistic director of the fashion designers section, Pier Giorgio Antonelli - artistic director of photographers section and Eric Bucci - model and artistic director of the photo models section.
Candidates and final participants of the Festival Europeo had to undergo several castings, which took place in various places at various times throughout Italy. The final selection procedure took place in September 2016. A series of photography and collaboration happened prior to the preparation of the festival. There were participants from all around the world including models, fashion models and actors with an international presence and origin. I was selected and invited to represent Slovakia as a model with a long-term Italian presence, international model, fashion blogger and owner of the fashion brand e-shop Mya Fashion with a long Italian and French tradition. The main event was preceded by a series of international photo shoots with Italian photographer Max Moor and Pier Giorgio Antonelli, which I completed several months before the actual event. Based on years of experience I am able to compare and I am pleased to say that this cooperation was enjoyable and the entire team from organizers to stylists and make-up artists was a charming bunch of charismatic and experienced professionals. The event had its award ceremonies and will look forward to the next part, which will be preceded by the forthcoming tour in Italy starting in early January 2017 with selected participants and the whole team of organizers."

autumn is back ... finally

This is an autumnfashion-photoshoot around the opera in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Autumn is my favorite season, when it comes to cloths. You can dress layer on layer (layering  method) and use softened tones and warm colors.

This day it was very sunny and hot outside, so i had to adapt myself to it.
I’ve chosen to stick to nature inspired colors.

Leather over all is very trendy right now. Therefore I put on my brown leatherskirt and matching brown leathershoes.

Since i have fair complexion and blonde hair, I tend to feel that black gives too hard contrast on me.
I prefer different shades of grey, brown and beige.
Picture
Picture

The skirt is slim fit, so I want the blouse to have an airy feel. That’s why i picked this one.
This outfit is great for everyday use. You can wear it at the office. Gives a bit of formality, but doesn’t scream of it.

The look is countryinspired, but fits perfectly in the city!

For a dressed down session – skip the jewelry and put your hair up.

To dress it up a notch – hang your coat over the shoulders in a Hollywood manner. Also curl your hair in big loose curls.
Picture

Info about my outfit:
Skirt – Object 500 SEK (50 EUR | 56 USD)
Shoes – Novita 1199 SEK (121 EUR | 133 USD)
Blouse – Vero Moda 250 SEK (25 EUR | 28 USD)
Jacket – Esprit 799 SEK (81 EUR | 89 USD)

Best of luck with your fashion in the autumn winds!

Bri's Spotlight - Sasse-Design

17/10/2016

With this article we like to present you a design house from Germany. Sasse-Design was founded in 2001 by fashion designer Melanie Wedemeier. After her training as a tailor and studies of fashion design in Hamburg, Melanie worked at a fashion magazine in Hamburg.
Picture
Finally the interest in her own design skills was bigger and so a year later she designed her first own collection to offer it in an onlineshop. This got a lot of attention and was mentioned among other things also in the fashion newspaper 'Joy'.

The company opened its own shop at Calenberger Strasse in Hannover. Since then, customized customer requirements have been implemented.
Soon many fashion shows, mostly in cooperation with 'Neue Presse Hannover', were part of this.

Picture
Of course there are many orders for festive occasions. For the opera ball, German athletes' ball, various moderator equipment, Salzburg Festival, Bayreuth Festival, German press ball and even the Oscar in Los Angeles.

The team is supplemented by apprentices and fashion assistants. Commissioned work for VW, Sparkasse, an international orchestra or a paper fashion show for Mondi from Munich, are also included. But the heart still strikes for our own shootings, in which we can let our creativity run free.

This year Sasse-Design celebrates its 15th anniversary. Congratulations to Melanie Wedemeier and Sasse-Design to this anniversary.

Picture
Picture
We are proud to have got the possibility for an interview with the founder and owner of Sasse-Design, Melanie Wedemeier. Our fashion editor Briana DeShields had several questions for her:

Can you tell me a little about yourself?
I am 42years old and live in Hanover/Germany. A nice city in northern Germany.
I finished a professional training in tailoring first, and then studied Fashion-Design in Hamburg.
I also worked for a year for a well-known print fashion magazine in Hamburg. I live in the center of Hanover and like clubbing and meet up with friends.

Can you tell me a little more about Sasse-Design?
I founded my brand Sasse-Design in 2001. We design and manufacture all kinds of clothes on the requirements of our customers. E.g. wedding-dresses, dresses for graduation balls and business-outfits.
We already dressed event and TV moderators, designed and manufactured dresses for the Bayreuther Festival, Salzburger Festival, Bundespresseball and “Ball des deutschen Sports”.
Picture

What is your favorite part?

I like to dress up people well. My favorite part is cut-design.

What inspires you?
I am inspired by art, music, concerts, movies and also nice fabrics. I love to work with beautiful fabrics!
Do your friends and family support your career choices?
My family supported me during my training and with the opening of my business.

If you could style one celeb, who would it be?
And what would you put them in?
Every character in a Tim Burton movie! I love all Tim Burton movies, they are very stylish with well dressed actors.

Have you faced any challenges?
Most challenging part is to have enough time for daily business and creative work as well.

How did you overcome those challenges?
From time to time I work at the weekends as well. The dresses and photographs which you can see are done in my “spare-time”, while my store is closed to the public. ;-)

What would you tell people who are facing similar battles?
If you work as a creative, take your time to be inspired by art, music and theaters/movies. Then transform your ideas in something which people love. You do not have to work, if you love what you do.

How many shows have you been in?
We are doing many shows in a year. I forgot to count them. Besides, we also are doing a lot of fashion-shows on big events which are organized by the press.

Any new lines or exciting news you would like to share?
Sasse-Design celebrates its 15th anniversary this year. We are planning a big fashion show for all our clients.
Picture

What sets your designs apart?
Elegance, every woman shall look elegant and self-confident.
We are working with high quality fabrics, only. The manufacturing is done directly within our store.

What has been a highlight in your career?
A dress for the Oscar award ceremony.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I will design clothes for movies and sell collections which are presented at the Berlin Fashion-Week.

Do you ever travel to the states?
I already visited my uncle in Seattle. I like the amazing scenery of Seattle.
Next time, I would like to visit New York. New York must be an inspiring city.

Where are you located and where can we find the designs?
Where can we find you on social media? My store is located in the center of Hannover. For all inquiries just contact me via mail: mw@sasse-design.com

Bri's Spotlight - Matt Addison and his world of eco-fashion

9/10/2016

It’s a natural evolution for the times we are living in really. I think this whole idea of consuming needs to change. Fashion is a living art, that reinvents itself every single season. So why not refocus this art with a new attitude on consumption?

There are so many new eco-materials and eco-friendly production processes, especially during this era of corporate responsibility. I think fashion is one of the most influential industries in the world, and with so many designers and companies we could surely change the industry by buying eco-designs from responsible manufacturers.
Matt Addison was born and raised in Tampa Florida. Graduating from freedom high school, he began art design with his startup skateboard company called NUNCA skateboarding.
Matt says, that’s where his designing really began! Before that he really had no experience at all! He got his big break at a trashion fashion show. He had access to extra “junk materials” because he worked at a retirement home.
His first design ever was called the urban business woman.
Picture
Picture
I was fortunate enough to meet Matt Addison at my Pulse Benefit in August. He came through in a clutch, when i was in need for more male designers.
Picture
Picture
Picture

Matt is also our lead graphic developer for TRU LUV MEDIA.

In five years he see’s himself as a hubb for a thriving art business specializing in graphic designs and clothing!

Matt believes "there is no limit to what you can create. You can create the world with a single thought, I believe in the laws of attraction. Thoughts, that present themselves can be created into reality!"

Little Hill People

Ethnicity meets high end fashion as designer Stacey Aydeniz, born in Shillong, creates stunning pieces with her brand Little Hill People.

Little Hill People is an ethical/boho fashion brand, that creates original products including accessories, bags and clothing. The pieces are inspired by the Northeast Indian culture, where the materials used for the designs are also sourced from.
Picture
Using Fairtrade, ethically sourced traditional materials and methods to fight against unfair treatment within fashion as well as keeping with London's contemporary style, Stacey is connecting her heritage to her designs, really showing her care and passion for Fairtrade movement in the fashion industry. Empowering the lives of many artists, bettering their quality of life while still creating stunning Fashion apparel and accessories.
Picture
Picture
Stacey, tell us a little bit about yourself to begin with.
I am a designer from Shillong, Northeast India. I love art, music, food and culture and didn't realise, that one day I would be representing the handloom heritage of our indigenous  tribe through my design collection.

When did you start ‘Little Hill People’?
I began my Designer Brand  "Little Hill People" in 2014 and we are doing very well this year!

Tell us about the products that you offer? What materials and fabrics do you use?
I sell exotic handbags and apparel, all sourced from Northeast India and developed in our studio in UK.! I use locally-made handloom materials for our bags, grass beads, bone and bamboo for my accessories.

A special thing about handloom material is, that it is normally used for traditional shawls, but due to the interesting designs and unique feel of the textile, I felt Haute Couture clothing and handbags would be an ideal medium to show off the creativity of the women of the North East.
How does your brand benefit artisans and weavers from the Northeast?
Our brand  teams up with local artisans through NGOs and self-help groups giving  them a global platform. We  buy their crafts for  fair price instead of going through middle men, who  pay them 1/3  the price. Through this fair business and trade conduct, we create fair  sustainable income  and employment. This encourages  local artisans to continue their much loved tradition.

Using fabrics and materials from the Northeast, why did you think that would appeal to people across the world and how has the response been so far?
The response has been overwhelming. There are still people out there, who highly appreciate handmade items. They are aware, that handmade things are painstakingly  made and time consuming.

How can people purchase your products? Do you ship products all over the world?
Online at www.littlehillpeople.com and yes, we do.

Streetfashion MagZZine editor and model Briana DeShields was joining New York Fashion Week. Let you guide by Briana in the world around the NYFW:

"Naturally i'm a beach bum, i'm usually found in rompers, bikinis, tank tops, daisy dukes and some form of opened toed sandals; After relocating from Dallas and Spring Hill I occasionally sub in the sandals for cowboy boots or comfortable wedges unless I'm at an event or photoshoot. Then you'll find me in designer duds.

Tommy Tru and Streetfashion MagZZine took me to the streets of New York while awaiting wardrobe for fashion week!  Check out these  eye catching inspiring looks!
Picture
After the first showcase for fashion week, i get to show off this amazing hairstyle by federico salon while looking for the latest in new york street fashion.
Picture
I Fell in love with this couple. When stopping to ask them for a quick  photo, they were beyond photo ready equipped with about 7 amazing couple poses. They couldn’t take their eyes off each other. You could feel the love and attraction between the two. I love, how she paired her poop shirt with her poop bag!
Picture
I'm in awe of New York. New York City is literally a walking fashion show.

Picture
I noticed an over-whelming  amount of bold prints. The pencil skirt is perfect for her. Generally the hem falls to, or is just below, the knee and is tailored for a close fit. This pencil skirt is paired perfectly with this bold printed top.
Picture
You don’t have to wear glam to look glam! These ladies are in basic blue denim with plain black tank tops, along a white collared shirt paired with black leggings.
Anyone who knows me, know I’m a  sucker for crimson lipstick and aviators ! way to rock it ladies!
Picture
She looked amazing! We caught her mid snack! The destroyed denim and baby blue open bottom tunic are styled perfectly with her care free curls and accessories to boot!
Picture
Ikona TVs featured host rocking striped moccasins, cut off denim blue jeans and a  loose flowing blouse.
Perfect for september in NYC!
Picture
Between the haircut, the aviators and the suit!
This is flawless, even the photographer is killing this look!
