We discovered some photos of her on the Instagram of our featured photographer Phil Reay. We then had a look at her Instagram and were immediately impressed by her appearance in front of the camera . In the first half of August we therefore asked her for an interview. She agreed and here we go to introduce you up and coming model Kaitlyn Stores with an interview and several wonderful photos of her. Kaitlyn, please tell us a little bit about yourself to begin with. (How old are you, Where were you born and where do you live now, What is your profession and do you have other besides modelling? My name is Kaitlyn Stores and I turned 18 in July this year. I was born in England in the city of Durham near my home town of Coxhoe, where I live with my parents, 2 sisters and my little dog Bailey. I am currently doing a dental apprenticeship to become a qualified dental nurse. |
What do you love most about modelling?
I love the freedom of being myself when taking part in modelling shoots. It has helped me grow in confidence and believe in myself and has given me the opportunity to collaborate with many other fabulous models, supporting each other, giving advice, as well as learning from others. I have made some lifelong friends from models, photographers, MUA's and hair stylists, which has to be the greatest part of meeting new people. Seeing the images produced as a result of everyones hard work is so extremely rewarding - a whole team effort.

What’s been the highlight of your career so far?
Being agency signed by Headline Models LTD has been an amazing opportunity for me and the start of an exciting new journey.
Tell us about some of your recent shoots.
Recently I have been taking part in Off Camera Flash Workshops and 1-2-1 sessions modelling for up and coming photographers, producing some fantastic images. I've also modelled football shoots with the world cup being a focus this year, as well as some summer beach shoots - climbing on abandoned piers being very tricky! Catching beautiful sunsets with not so warm weather. I have also had the amazing opportunity to take part in some videography shoots.

What really goes on behind the scenes as a model? One of the main things when asked to do particular themes is coordinating and organising the outfits to suit the shoot chosen. Finding the right outfit can make or break the outcome. I love researching and planning to make the shoot perfect. It takes a long time to plan a shoot when collaborating with MUA's and hairstylists to create the desired look and can take a lot of preparation. I also love styling my own hair and makeup, but it's always a pleasure, when professionals are on hand to do their thing and I am modeling outfits given. Which photographers in the industry do you most enjoy working with? I have had the pleasure of working with so many great photographers with all their differing personalities, so would be an injustice to name a few but, Phil Reay was the first to discover my potential introducing me to the world of modelling, Peter Ali with his creative and next level thinking, Gary Ward and his location finding, Tony Dickinson for his fabulous "Pose" skills and Tom Richardson with his black and white outlook. |
Define your personal style. I am very versatile when carrying out shoots, but do gravitate towards sports and street fashion. |
|
Who would you say is your 'style muse'? Victoria Beckham Your favourite designer is… ? Ralph Lauren Vogue or Harper’s Bazaar? Vogue - The name says it all, hugely popular and with world wide recognition is in my opinion one of the best magazines in the fashion industry. Is there any particular designer piece you are crushing on right now? Love Gucci's Ace embroided trainers. |
What do you hope to be doing in the next 5 years?
The next five years seems along way off for me but if I could see into the future, I would love to be travelling the world experiencing different styles of fashion, living and following my dreams.
If you could be anywhere else but here, where would you go?
Relaxing in far away shores.
