We already introduced him in an Editor's Choice article in the beginning of this year. Today we like to show you pictures out of the latest photo session of photographer Craig MacLean with model Tiana Newell.

We remember that Craig is a self taught photographer with more than 35 years of experience. He is usually working with a Minolta XD5, with Ilford 100 or 400 film or a Sony Alpha 200. He develops his own film and scans the negatives with a Epson V600 scanner. All of Craig's post production is done in Lightroom CC.

The photos have been taken by Craig recently, precisely on November 11th 2020. He sent them to us for our Advent Calendar with the following words::
"Behind the scenes, this is a photoshoot more about anxiety than a pandemic or social isolation. Working with Tiana Newell is my first time working with a model in almost 2 years, two years filled with pain and loss. I was not about to create dark and brooding images. This photoshoot helped me rediscover my confidence, passion and bring light back into my life. Sort of what parts of advent are all about. So, what do I bring to the festive virtual table? Hope." |

Why ZZ Loves It
We love the color scheme with blue as most prominent color, joined by red, yellow and green, which reflect the natural autumn colors. But what we love most about Craig's pictures, and what deserves special attention, is the strong contrast, with which he gives his pictures intensity and expressiveness. Special praise also goes to model Tiana Newell for her posing and facial expressions, with which she underlines the contrasting pictures of Craig. We are happy to be able to showcase these pictures of Craig and Tiana as part of our Advent calendar.
