Dancing on the beach
Nature creates great art, but do you have a sharp enough eye to capture it?
Streetfashion MagZZine is proud to share with you some works from Swedish photographer Tomas Lissåker. Follow Tomas and Maija to a remote beach in the south of Sweden, and let their art roll over you as if it was a wave from the Swedish ocean.

About Tomas
"Hej, I'm Tomas, I'm 32 and I currently call Malmö my home, but I grew up in the forests of Dalarna in a small village called Gesunda. I have a background as a mountain leader and guide so besides my photography I also work at Naturkompaniet which is a store focused on outdoor gear, in Malmö.
I first got introduced to photography in 2004 because having realized that I couldn’t draw or paint to save my life, it was probably the only way I was going to pass the mandatory art class. For me, the camera is simply a recording device, it doesn't create anything that isn't there. What gets captured is a result of an interaction. The emotion in an image is what makes it work. You can have great light, a great model and all that but if there's no emotion in the image, it falls flat." |

Beach Scene
"The inspiration behind this shoot was pretty much just me going through a book of images by german photographer Peter Lindbergh.
I wanted to make some really authentic looking images, plain and simple with lots of feeling.
Maija has a fantastic way of letting her face and body express what goes through her head and it makes for some amazing images.
We went to a beach just outside of Malmö. Simply because the location offered a pretty good variety of scenes with the tall grass, the pier and the water. I also wanted some wind in the images, and next to the sea is a good place for that."

Why ZZ Loves It
I would like to thank Tomas for providing us with such wonderful and marvellous work. I like his spontaneous idea of running away from reality, just go and create something. A great image does not necessarily need designer clothes or exquisite make-up - sometimes, immersing ourselves into nature is enough, being genuinely connected to mother nature is enough. Link in to ourselves, breathe, dance, be free. Let go all the stress that comes with these times, maybe caused by the pandemic. Let go all emotions. Let nature heal us, let wind and waves compose, enhanced by the dancing steps, we are connected to ourselves.
