We discovered some photos of her on Instagram and then had a look at her portfolio. We really like her attitude and charisma. That's why we asked her for an interview.
Today we like to introduce you up and coming model Petra Kern, based in Salzburg, Austria. Petra, please tell us a little bit about yourself to begin with. (How old are you, Where were you born and where do you live now, What is your profession and do you have other besides modeling? I am 23 years old and grew up in a small village near Salzburg. I still live there but intend to go to Munich to be in a bigger city and enjoying the busy side of a city having more opportunities for future jobs and life closer to my friends. Start working as an office management assistant, I made an apprenticeship as a foreign business language correspondent in business English and my main profession is a logistics and sales assistant. Helping our international customers with their orders and logistical issues. Modeling is my second profession. I would like to set my focus on it in the future besides my job in the office! |

Every job is a new experience for my personal growth.

Tell us about some of your recent shoots.
When spring begins, I love to do outdoor shootings. My last shooting thorugh an agency was a sports shooting outdoor for the sports brand PUMA. I love outdoor pictures on lakes, in fields with a lot of flowers and sunsets.
What really goes on behind the scenes as a model?
It looks like glamour and easy work, but it definitely is not. You need to be aware providing different faces, different moods and a different emotion. As a model I learned, that you need to be focused on the things you are standing for or the projects or products the client wants to sell. It is imoprtant to be spontaneuos, have fun and don't be shy. And the most important thing is to be yourself and act as natural as possible.
Which photographers in the industry do you most enjoy working with?
I love the fashion industry. Wearing and representing different outfits, bags or accessoires makes the most fun. But I also like to have close ups and beauty shoots. Define your personal style. My personal style is natural and outdoor and mainly focusing on the sports/fitness branch. I love doing a lot of shootings in the nature, because I feel connected to the nature and the sun. Who would you say is your 'style muse'? There are so many I could say as a style muse. I love the model Alessandria Ambrosio. She is definitely one of the best models in the world. But there are a lot of models I would say their style is an inspiration (Marie aus Parie, Heidi Klum, Rebecca Mir). Your favourite designer is… ? Calvin Klein |
Is there any particular designer piece you are crushing on right now?
One day, I wanna have a a handbag from Hermes. This is very expensive and you need to wait a long time, but I am sure one day I will hold this special accessorie in my hand.

What do you hope to be doing in the next 5 years?
My dream and my next steps are, focusing on my model carrier. The future hopefully makes me becoming an international model, travelling working and modelling. This is the thing I am currently working on.
If you could be anywhere else but here, where would you go?
The city I fell in love and I have been there two times already is New York. If I ever have the chance, I would love to live and work there.
Let's hope my dreams, my hard work and my luck will lead me there.
