As we were looking through the web, we discovered a photo of her on the German model community Model-Kartei.de and then had a look at her Instagram page. We were immediately impressed by her appearance in front of the camera and asked her for an interview. Lucky as we are, she agreed and here we go to introduce you German based up and coming model Lucy Hunger. Lucy, please tell us a little bit about yourself to begin with. (How old are you, Where were you born and where do you live now, What is your profession and do you have other besides modeling? My name is Lucy Hunger, 18 years old and born in Rochlitz (Saxony, Germany), a large district town (even if the name „district town“ is the largest at the city). |
What do you love most about modelling?
I currently live with my friend and mother in my parents' house. The house is in a tiny village near Rochlitz and except for my hobby / desired job modeling there is nothing but really nothing glamorous. Even modeling is my dream job, school is unfortunately my current main profession.
I'm by nature a pretty crazy person, which gives me great advantages in modeling. You meet cool new people and get a lot of new input. In addition, it is slowly becoming a must, because my family is constantly demanding new results.
What’s been the highlight of your career so far?
My highlight at modeling is modeling itself, the places you can see and the experiences you make. Also, that someone asks me for an interview, I would not have thought about right at the beginning of my career as a model.

Tell us about some of your recent shoots.
Since I am at the beginning of my modeling career, the main part of a shoot is more a kind of experimenting than a completely planned process. Many of the pictures, that have been made so far, are more a type of „just happening“ than a deliberate and predictable result, and that's exactly what I think, makes my previous pictures what they are: a well-done mix of beautiful memories, a lot of fun and a pinch coincidence. |
What really goes on behind the scenes as a model?
For me, "behind the scenes" and in front of the camera is pretty much alike. Clearly it takes a lot of time for the scheduling and planning of shootings, but except for the little make-up in the face (which I rarely wear otherwise) is very similar in my real life as well as in modeling.
I submit neither a beauty craze nor an anorexia nor unhealthy eating habits nor a brand mania. It’s just me as an "original";)
Which photographers in the industry do you most enjoy working with?
Which photographers I like most to work with is hard to say, because I have not met too many photographers or many different photographers and especially no acquaintances. But the ones I met were all very helpful, open and friendly to me. So you could say, I like working with almost all photographers. But I still have two favorites: Thanks to Martin Weiss and Jürgen Schwartz, who support me a lot in my career.

Define your personal style.
My personal style is not very oriented towards brands or trends (even if that is very unusual for a model). I would certainly invest more money in expensive clothes, if I had more money, but as a student, my main focus is on a good degree and no expensive dress style. I buy mainly garments, that I like and not those, that are particularly expensive, rare or melodious. And probably the most recognizable trademark is probably my smile, what I wear as good as 24/7. Who would you say is your 'style muse'? I do not have a specific role model, but if I had to name a model I could identify with most, I would say Cara Delevingne, because she seems to me very relaxed and cool. I can’t say, that I'm looking for a lot of well-known personalities, I prefer to do my own "thing" and I pretend for no one and that's, what most people feel about me very positively. |
Your favourite designer is… ?
Since I do not pay attention to brands or the latest trends, I do not have a favorite designer. But I think that's likely to change in the course of my life, when I earn my own money. Since I’m not out of this world, I can look up designer clothes at many different websites. I personally like Calvin Klein, Gucci, Louis Vuitton and Michael Kors best. But as I said I buy what I like and I can afford.
Vogue or Harper’s Bazaar? I have to say that both magazines are awesome, but a little bit I love Vogue more. Is there any particular designer piece you are crushing on right now? Since I find just about all designer pieces stunning, I would not say "no" if someone wanted to give me one. Nevertheless, I do not have a special garment on my wish list, because I am not a brand fetishist. What do you hope to be doing in the next 5 years? My goal is of course to come out big with modeling and make a living out of it. Of course, I know that this will be a long and hard road, but not impossible. I do not want to do anything my entire life that robs me of my zest for life. I want to have appreciation and fun in what I do and that's modeling. And if that fails, I'll work harder for it. In 5 years you can achieve a lot and I'm pretty sure, that with the help of my family and my friend I can do everything, that I set myself as a goal, because I am naturally very purposeful and diligent. |
If you could be anywhere else but here, where would you go?
I prefer to stay in Germany and start my career here and later to take on foreign model jobs, but I do not really intend to move abroad. By today's traffic and air network, it is indeed feasible, that you can travel around a lot.
