She contacted us on Instagram and after we've had a look at her portfolio, we decided to feature up and coming model Leanne Errington. In this feature Leanne takes us with her into her world as a model and talks about fashion, what happens behind the scenes and her plans for the future. |
Leanne, please tell us a little bit about yourself to begin with. How old are you, Where were you born and where do you live now, What is your profession and do you have other besides modelling? I’m 25 years old and from a little village called Wingate in the UK and am still currently living there. My profession is modelling and performing, as well as teaching. Dancing used to be all I did for an income, but now modelling has become a big part of that too. |
What do you love most about modelling? What I love most about modelling is that you can totally express yourself through pictures. You can tell people who you are by just one simple pose. I also love that I get to rock totally awesome outfits! What’s been the highlight of your career so far? My highlight of my modelling career so far has been working for Norma James of 'Cordbridge'. Getting to model designer outfits, such as Joseph Ribkoff, RIANI and French Connection is a great feeling. Tell us about some of your recent shoots. My most recent shoots have been studio shoots, which is a nice change as normally I do a lot of outside photo shoots. |
What really goes on behind the scenes as a model?
I think a lot of people would be quite shocked if they knew about what goes on behind the scenes of photo shoots and modelling. Most people just see the outcome of the beautiful photographs, but what they don’t see is the hours of holding poses, poses that can be painful, changing clothes over and over again, being in the freezing cold having to hold elegant and hard poses, the hours of editing, work of photographers, hairstylists and makeup artists. It’s a lot of hard work but you get to meet some amazing and talented people and I wouldn’t change any of it for the world.
I love every minute of it!

Which photographers in the industry do you most enjoy working with?
I have worked with so many different photographers and I’m quite lucky that they’ve all been great experiences and great people, so I wouldn’t be able to choose who I like working with the most.

Define your personal style. My personal style is very random. I don’t stick to just one style at all. Sometimes I dress quite edgy and dark, but then again I like to look really girly. It depends what I’m feeling on the day, I think it’s good to mix it up a bit. Who would you say is your 'style muse'? I don’t really have a style muse. I like to be quite unique but if I see someone on Instagram or social media with a banging outfit, I would definitely ask where they got it from. Your favourite designer is...? As I change my style and taste all the time I don’t have a favourite but a designer that goes by the name of Chalk, I’m quite intrigued by at the moment. Some of their clothing is really cute. |
Vogue or Harper’s Bazaar?
As I’m quite new to big fashion brands, it has to be Vogue for me. What do you hope to be doing in the next 5 years? In the next 5 years, I am hoping to be living comfortably somewhere nice, having a full time career in either modelling or performing and living a happy and healthy life style. If you could be anywhere else but here, where would you go? I’d love to be living in London or LA as there are so many more opportunities there! |
