Please tell us a little bit about yourself to begin with.
My name is Dorothy Bosley and I am 19 years old. I was born in Pratt Kansas and moved to Texas when I was 11. I am a full time college student and just started my Bachelors in psychology. I also am a makeup artist. I always find more to do because I always think there is more out there for me. How long have you been a model and why do you want to work as a model? I have been a model for almost three years. I want to be a model because it is one way I can change the world. It is the one thing I can look at people and say that your dreams can come true, and it doesn’t matter where you come from. No matter how hard something seems never give up. Just believe in yourself. How did you get your start in the industry and did you educate yourself in the field by e.g. a course? I started my going to a casting call. I had no clue what was going to be expected from me so I looked up a YouTube video that showed me what modeling was like. After that I practiced posing and walking for weeks. |
How do you prepare for a shoot?
The day before I make sure to have everything I need or might need I a bag ready to do. I alway bring extra heals, nude/black undergarments, and everything the photographer asks me to bring. During shoots, what is often the most fun part, and what is the most challenging part? The fun part about a shoot is hair and makeup. This is the part where you feel like a movie star for a while because people are trying to get you ready for the camera. The hardest part would be poses because it’s hard not to repeat the same poses again. However, with practice you get better at it. What do you love most about modelling? I love having people looking up to me and being an important part of my journey, I love the rush you get before going on stage to walk, or before a shoot, and I love how I can be myself with no judgment around. How do you master the art of posing? I do not think I have mastered the art of posing yet. I think that there is always someone you can learn more from and build on your knowledge. However, practice in a mirror or on your phone camera is a good way to see what face expressions you like and poses you look good doing. |

I take care of what and how much I eat, and do a lot of walking.
What is your favourite food?
I love Chinese food and chicken salads.
What is your beauty routine?
When I wake up I wash my face before makeup. At night I use makeup wipes then wash my face with face cleaner, and then moisturizer if I need it.

Do you have any advice for aspiring models?
Never give up! You can do anything when you want it bad enough. Work hard and believe in yourself. You may fail a few times, but always stand back up and try again!
