Another December day, another Christmas article from us. Today’s featured model may look familiar to you if you have followed us and read the editor’s choice about Joe Green and Bianca LaBounty (read here if you have missed it). The Editor’s choice focused more on Joe as a photographer and we wanted to learn more about Bianca too! Why, you ask? Because she is an interesting, young, beautiful woman with high ambitions in the fashion industry! Go ahead and read yourself what she has learned during her first year of modelling!

Bianca, please tell us a little bit about yourself to begin with. How old are you? Where were you born and where do you live now? What is your profession and do you have other besides modelling? I’m a 22 year old woman who aspires to be a model and professional photographer. I was born Romani, or Roma Gypsy as the slang term is used, in Brasov, Romania, where I was briefly orphaned before connecting with my foster parents. I now live in the very quiet town of Swanzey, New Hampshire U.S.. I work at a local Chinese restaurant as a delivery driver, work as a part time model and have also been learning photography and editing using Photoshop and Lightroom. How long have you been a model and why do you want to work as a model? I started modeling about a year ago and I have several goals in mind as a model. I want to work in television or the film industry as an entertainer. That would be the ultimate for me! I also want to be an inspiration for others to have the feeling that no obstacle can get in their way and to convince others to truly believe in themselves. Confidence is so important. |
How did you get your start in the industry and did you educate yourself in the field by e.g. a course? I haven’t taken any formal modeling course. I have been inspired by America’s Next Top Model, and I eventually wish to be on the show. |
During shoots, what is often the most fun part, and what is the most challenging part?
The most fun I have is connecting with the photographer and trying to make the image that the photographer is attempting to create, a reality. The most challenging aspect of modeling, at least for me, is working in the bright sun during a photo session. I squint very easily in bright light so to make things easier, I close my eyes until the photographer is ready to take the shot. It’s an art to pull this off correctly! |
What is your go-to outfit for daytime?
My go to outfit is quite simply jeans, a t-shirt with my hair put up in a bun. Casual works for me! How do you master the art of posing? I have learned to mimic the participants on America’s Next Top Model. I found that the show is a great resource to learn what works and what does not. What do you do to stay in shape? I like to run, do yoga, and go hiking to stay fit! What is your favourite food? Comfort food works for me and my favorite food is chicken pot pie. Of course, the occasional fine dining outing works for me as well! |
What do you love most about modelling?
My favorite things about modeling are meeting new people during the photo sessions, going to unique and different places, and just being connected to the world differently. Models do become actors for the camera! I love it when I can pull off different looks for the photographer.

Do you have any advice for aspiring models?
I would advise aspiring models to be proud of the physical attributes they were born with, show them off, and make sure it’s all about the eyes. Tell a story with your eyes and the rest will happen naturally. Confidence works!

What is your beauty routine?
My routine is to start out by styling my hair first because it can take up to almost a whole hour to style it. I then use face wash, followed by moisturizing. I start with foundation, then I’ll touch up on my eyebrows a little, eye shadow, blush, contour, lip and then mascara.

How do you prepare for a shoot?
I would ask my photographer what kind of clothing style that they are looking for me to wear, ask about the type of hairstyle and colors I should wear for makeup.
How can photographers, agencies or companies best contact you if they are interested in working with you?
They’re more than welcome to contact me via Facebook, Instagram or my email.
