We discovered some photos of her at photographer Jörg Zeitler and then had a look at her portfolio.
We really like her attitude and charisma. That's why we asked her for an interview. We were lucky and she agreed.
So today we can introduce you model Alina Paul, based in Dresden, Germany.

Alina, please tell us a little bit about yourself to begin with. How old are you? Where were you born and where do you live now? What is your profession and do you have other besides modelling?
My name is Alina Paul, I am 30 and I was born in Ukraine. Right now I dwell in Germany, I’ve been living here for 2,5 years. I am an economist of municipal infrastructure by my first education, I worked at the city council in my hometown Kharkov. I am a journalist by my second eduction. Welcome you, my dear colleagues. :) I got into a model school for the first time when I was 11 years old. It has literally changed my life. Once I saw a crawl line on TV about a model school cast. It was in the evening, and in the morning I convinced my parents that I need to get there and at the same day I was already there strutting out onto the catwalk. I have always been stubborn. |
What do you love most about modelling?
It’s an unspeakably great feeling when you have something to tell and show to this world. I really enjoy applying to myself different looks, create them myself. During the photoshoot I prefer to plan things: outfit, looks, shoot place, shooting angle.
What’s been the highlight of your career so far?
Amongst my recent projects it was a runway walk wearing Chopard design necklace which was produced in partnership with Rihanna (you may check up the video on my website).

Tell us about some of your recent shoots.
The latest remarkable photoshoot event took place in Italy. The photographers Nora Gosche and Sven Weingartner organized an incredible trip. It was funny when I came to the casting-talk. Nora asked me: "Alina, are you reliable?", And I did not know the word "reliable" and it sounded to me like "vulnerable" and I loudly answered with confidence: "Nooo" :)
The most memorable moment was the evening photoshoot in Venice presenting a wedding dresswhile two little girls were taking videos of me with their phones, the expressive Italians shouted: Merry me! The photoshoot in Florence was unforgettable as well, passer-bys even offered us some cash to take photos with me.

What really goes on behind the scenes as a model?
A lot. We are quite friendly to each other, but it may happen that someone didn't like you at first sight behind the stage, so they can push you at the catwalk or step on your dress. All those moments of preparations before the show, fitting and make-up could be compared to the feeling when a princess is being prepped for the ball. |
Which photographers in the industry do you most enjoy working with?
I am pleased to work with the photographer Jörg Zeitler. He was my first photographer in Dresden. Understanding each other without words. The first photoshoot was funny, I didn't quite understand when he was telling me to look or not to look in a camera, but at the same time he said I had a future and potential here in Germany. But model is a 13-20-year-old girl herein 20 means an old model. It’s considered to be true in Ukraine. Though it’s different here, he insisted. A model in Germany has a large-scale meaning, check out the ads and you’ll realize everything. |
I also had plenty of creative photo shoots last summer in the streets of Dresden with Martin Busse as well as swim suit photo sessions by the Baltic Sea.
Define your personal style.
Right now I love street style trends. European street fashion gives you lots of freedom. It’s a spirit of discretion, youthfulness, experiment and airiness. When it’s not that important whether your shoes match the bag and the whole outfit is of the same style. Trends fusion, play, vogue play when everybody can decide how much fashion they need today in particular. As well as street style looks I fancy classical evening gowns. For balls and operas, various ceremonies there is a dress code I follow. Who would you say is your 'style muse'? I am fond of Victoria Beckhem. In other words her way of finding her particular style muse. It was a long way of her fashion failures. She was laughed at, brands prohibited her to speak in interviews she wore their clothes. Still she created her image. She made herself, formed her impeccable and splendid style. |
Your favourite designer is… ?
I may sound corny, however I’ll say it’s Coco. This woman inspires me up to now. She made fashion wearable for women. And it will last for ages: pants, a little black dress, a handbag, and her shoes. Her brand is often faked and I understand why, every woman wants to become a rebel the way she was.
Vogue or Harper’s Bazaar?
Vogue and Anna Wintour for her perfectionism and professionalism. By the way, Victoria Beckhem made it on to be on the cover of the magazine only when she found her style and became a style muse, not before that.

Is there any particular designer piece you are crushing on right now?
I have an appeal to the street style, yet I prefer not to wear ugly sneakers. It’s too much fashion to me. Walking doesn't look modeling at all in such types of shoes. But I don’t mind it whatsoever. Simply everybody needs to have limits about fashion in their reality. Choose and try on things that match you personally.
What do you hope to be doing in the next 5 years?
I am passionate about working in advertising, directly present brands and create photo projects and work as an influencer. I’ve withdrawn myself from classical modeling work, I am not a part of any model agencies, I work as a model enterprise. I am thinking about enlarging my team and field of work.
If you could be anywhere else but here, where would you go?
I am happy to be where I am now. It’s my life philosophy. I reckon, we all need to get to know ourselves, find happiness in that and convey the inner state of joy to the world. Everywhere, wherever you are.
