Alexandra Elise, please tell us a little bit about yourself to begin with. (How old are you, Where were you born and where do you live now, What is your profession and do you have other besides modeling? Hello my name Alexandra Elise. I just turned 19 July of 2018… yup a cancer baby! Born in Pueblo, Colorado. Currently I am signed to an agency in Denver, Colorado, that I would consider my profession even though Colorado isn’t the best place to be at in the industry and I’m not as busy as I’d like to be in the profession. I also am a cosmetic brand specialist and temp service for tons of different makeup brands, like MAC, Estee Lauder, Smashbox, Bobbi Brown, Origins, Bumble and bumble, etc. |
What do you love most about modelling?
What I love most about modeling is a tie between two very important aspects for myself. One is the ability to express myself freely. Through clothes, body language, facial expression, ect. You are creating art. You are art. This at one time was such a tricky concept to wrap my head around. But I have grown to be confident. I am confident that my confidence will inspire other woman to be just as confident in their own skin. That alone makes me feel better and motivates me to continue to do better everyday. Striving for this has really given me a purpose that alone is what I love most.

What’s been the highlight of your career so far?
So far the highlight of my career has been the amazing places I’ve traveled as well as people that I’ve met. I’ve been to L.A., Atlanta, Phoenix, and tomorrow I will be going to Las Vegas, then a week from that Puerto Rico. I’ve been really busy and it’s amazing to see the growth. Physically and mentally. Truly the experiences and opportunities I've experienced through this journey have been life changing.
Tell us about some of your recent shoots.
Welp where do I start! Yesterday I did a shoot for a makeup brand in L.A. I can’t wait to share these photos, I partnered up with another local Denver model and we created magic, literally! The whole scene is very surreal and dreamy. I had a lot of fun!
What really goes on behind the scenes as a model? Behind the scenes you either get one of three vibes. One (behind the scenes for photoshoot usually) you get the fun energetic side. The people you work with are awesome, a mix of great energy! The funny one , the artistic one, ect. Music is playing, we’re all just enjoying our common interest and passion! I’m personally overly excited/nervous ALL the time to pick out outfits, makeup, hair. Or two (behind the scenes for a runway.) Runways are always fun you get the same energy… but the pressure is ON! Usually the designer is at the show so I think that puts on a little more pressure for me to try impress them. Plus the pressure to make sure you’re on time with your pace ESPECIALLY once we start the show backstage is chaos. Once we’re off that stage we’re literally running to get changed, you have people helping you get changed...quickly! You’re putting on the dress, one lady is zipping you up, another lady is fixing subtle details in the clothes, hair, and makeup. Boobies flying everywhere. It’s hectic and a lot more hard work and dedication than you think. |
Then again there’s always that “I’m never doing this again” vibe, let’s be real no business/industry is perfect. NOTHING is. From my experience these flaws consist of rude, snotty, or selfish people that ruin the experience for money or personal motives, but everything has flaws it’s about finding something that’s worth it despite the flaws.
Which photographers in the industry do you most enjoy working with?
Photographers in this industry that I’ve enjoyed working with are all photographers that I think are not only great photographers but they are super creative just like me so coming together was super fun and taking a picture became more about capturing a moment. Alexander Abrola (Insta @alexander.abrola) is a local denver photographer that really brings a new york, high fashion, grunge look to Colorado. Tony Mansion (Insta @tony.mansion) has recently created some off the dopest looks and styles I love his editing technique! These are just a couple but two that I really see being successful right now with their unique concepts, style, and creativity that I have worked with and will work again and again with!

Define your personal style.
My style is so hard to explain because I basically wear whatever I’m feeling. I’m super inspired by 70s, 80s and especially 90s fashion. I love denim, I literally will wear denim everything denim shoes, denim jeans, denim jacket, denim purse, denim hat, because who can go wrong with denim. Colors I love to wear are yellow and orange because they’re such a happy bold colors, neutrals have been a new thing for me lots of nude-tan-brown shades. Red is such a bold color that really gives me confidence and makes me feel sexy whether its a pair of red pumps or a red lip gives a whole lotta character to any look. Who would you say is your 'style muse'? My style muse is Rihanna I love her and all 50 of her signature looks! Rihanna is the definition of a style chameleon. To the colors, over the top prints, oversized pieces, suits, big funky boots and shoes, and the crazy mix between two styles that she brings together is exactly what I go for! |
Your favorite designer is… ?
My favorite ‘big time’ designer is gucci. Gucci to me is all about high fashion funk. I love watching the runways and being inspired by all the crazy colors and patterns that you would think never go look great! Every model I watch I atleast find one staple piece I love and could see myself wearing with my everyday look. From the belts, sunglasses, sweaters, shoes, and over the top necklaces and earrings each piece has so much character and creativity!

Vogue or Harper’s Bazaar? Vogue. Vogue is just really original to me and something I’ve aspired and grown inspiration from as a little girl. Is there any particular designer piece you are crushing on right now? I’m crushing on thigh high boots this season! The Saint Laurent Era Feather Embellished Velvet Yeti Thigh High boots are AMAZING!! |
What do you hope to be doing in the next 5 years?
In the next 5 years I would hope that my modeling opportunities keep growing outside of CO so I could be potentially be signed to an agency in LA and New York, working with more brands and people across the US. I want to begin my own small business sharing my art and style within this year, so hopefully by the end of this 5 years I can be completely stable in my business and set up for bigger and better opportunities.
If you could be anywhere else but here, where would you go?
Hmm anywhere but here! Just kidding I really love colorado it’s a great place for a girl like me. It’s quite and full of nature I love the city lifestyle but this to me will always be home. But don’t get me wrong I love to travel and if I could choose any place in the world right now to be I would be in Africa or India next to the beach riding an elephant watching the sunset… yeah that sounds about right.
