We discovered some photos of her on modelmanagement.com and then had a look at her Instagram. We really like her attitude and charisma. That's why we asked her for a photoshoot and interview. We were lucky and she agreed.
So today we can introduce you model Leah Kasem, based in Vänersborg, Sweden. Leah, please tell us a little bit about yourself to begin with. (How old are you, Where were you born and where do you live now, What is your profession and do you have other besides modeling? I’m 24 years old, I was born in a neighborhood in Malmö, Sweden called Rosengård. Rosengård is actually mostly known because it was the same neighborhood that Zlatan came from, also it’s unfortunately one of the “bad” areas in Sweden. I lived there during my childhood and later in life I moved to a little town near Gothenburg, where I still live today. Today I work with the refugee children from Syria in a school, I teach them Swedish and help them understand the Swedish culture and I integrate them into the Swedish society. |
Because of that hard work there I couldn’t focus on modeling like I really wanted, but I’m picking my self up again and will try to give modeling a shot.
What do you love most about modelling?
I love to show the sexy but yet elegant side of a woman, for me, that combination is very beautiful and I feel that I get to express that side when I’m behind the camera.

What’s been the highlight of your career so far?
So far I have not experienced a highlight as a model, since I’m at the beginning of my career I have not been fortunate enough to get the publicity that I wished for. But I do have high expectations and that something big might happen if I work hard enough.
Tell us about some of your recent shoots. It was with the photographer Helmut Jeels, he was very skilled and I had a great time during the session. We took many pictures in the city where I live, we also went to the forrest and took amazing pictures in the nature, which I just loved. What really goes on behind the scenes as a model? During the session there is a lot of laughter but also a lot of focus, you always have to be aware of your posture and always be one step ahead with the pose. And sometimes the clothes are not comfortable, but you have to make it work anyway. Otherwise is the feeling remarkable when you stand there. When not shooting it is very important that you eat healthy and workout so that you keep a slim body. |
Which photographers in the industry do you most enjoy working with?
My favorite photographer is Nadine Kasem. She’s actually my sister and she’s a professional photographer with a wicked equipment. We have a great time together when we’re working and I’m very comfortable when she’s taking photos of me.

I’m not sure about what my personal style would be called. But I prefer tight clothes, a little revealing but at the same time elegant.

Vogue or Harper’s Bazaar?
Vogue
Is there any particular designer piece you are crushing on right now?
Definitely a Versace’s dress.
What do you hope to be doing in the next 5 years?
It depends, if I have a breakthrough with modeling I hope that I will work with that, otherwise I hope that I’m done with my studies.
If you could be anywhere else but here, where would you go?
For me, the world is an exciting place and I haven’t experienced enough countries in order to decide which one I would like to stay at. I have been to the US and it seems to be a place i would enjoy.
